Sarah: Mark! Someone just parked in our driveway!
Chloe: That's Uncle Victor's black truck! He came back!
Lily: Hide us, Daddy! Please hide us again!
Mark: Sarah, take Chloe and Lily into the home office right now and lock the door from the inside!
Sarah: What are you going to do, Mark?
Mark: I'm going to finish this right here in my front hallway. Go! Now!
Sarah quickly scooped up Lily in her arms while Chloe grabbed her hand, rushing down the carpeted hallway into the office. The lock clicked shut just as heavy, aggressive footsteps pounded up the front porch stairs.
The front door handle rattled violently before the door was pushed open. A tall man in a dark leather jacket stepped into the foyer, his face flushed red with arrogance and greed.
Victor: Well, well. Look who finally came home from his big lawyer job.
Mark: Get out of my house, Victor. You have five seconds before I put a bullet in you for trespassing.
Victor: Oh, calm down, Mark. I know you found the little brats in the cabinet.
Mark: You used helpless children to steal Elena's inheritance, didn't you?
Victor: Elena was weak! She didn't deserve a fifty-million-dollar trust fund! She was going to give it all to you and her precious little bastard daughters!
Mark: Daughters... twins. They're my daughters, aren't they?
Victor: Course they are! Elena hid them from you because I told her you'd abandon them if she didn't sign over her power of attorney to me!
Mark: You lied to her for six years! You kept my children living in fear!
Victor: And now I'm here to clean up the last detail. Give me the girls, Mark. I'll take them out of the state, and you can go back to your quiet little life with your rich wife.
Mark: You are never touching those girls again as long as I draw breath.
Victor: You don't have a choice, lawyer boy! I have legal custody signed by Elena three years ago!
Mark: A power of attorney signed under physical duress and fraudulent coercion isn't worth the paper it's printed on, Victor!
Victor reached into his inner jacket pocket, his hand wrapping around the grip of a heavy metal object. Mark didn't flinch, standing his ground right beneath the American flag hanging in the hallway.
Victor: Hand them over, Mark! Or I'll make sure nobody ever finds you either!
Mark: Look behind you, Victor.
Victor: You think I'm stupid enough to fall for that old trick?!
Officer Ramirez: DROP THE WEAPON! POLICE! ON THE GROUND NOW!
Three police officers rushed through the open front door behind Victor, their firearms raised and pointed directly at his chest. Victor froze, his jaw dropping in absolute terror as he realized he had walked straight into a trap.
