Justice in the Foyer

When My Stepmother Cut My Pearls I Found Truth

Jack and Victoria rushed back to the estate immediately.

Police cars were already pulling into the wide circular driveway.

A expensive luxury car was parked near the front steps.

An international real estate buyer was standing near the door.

Eleanor was handing a pen to the buyer for a signature.

Victoria stepped out of Jack's truck and walked up fast.

"Stop signing those papers immediately!" Victoria called out loudly.

The buyer stopped his pen and looked up in confusion.

Eleanor glared at Victoria with pure hatred in her eyes.

"Get off my property right now, Victoria," Eleanor shouted.

Two city police officers stepped up onto the stone porch.

Mr. Vance walked up behind them holding an official court order.

"Eleanor Miller, you are under arrest for fraud," the officer stated.

The officer pulled out metal handcuffs from his belt loop.

Eleanor backed up toward the open front door in shock.

"You cannot do this to me!" Eleanor screamed loudly.

"I built this family home with my own hands!"

The police officer grabbed Eleanor's arms and clicked the cuffs shut.

The luxury buyer stepped away and handed back the pen.

"The deal is off," the buyer said before walking away.

Eleanor was escorted down the stairs toward the police car.

She looked back at Victoria with bitter defeat on her face.

Jack placed a comforting hand on Victoria's shoulder gently.

They walked inside the quiet mansion together side by side.

The grand entry foyer was empty and still under the sun.

Victoria knelt down on the floor where she had fallen.

She picked up the rest of her mother's scattered pearls.

"We can fix this necklace now, Victoria," Jack said softly.

Victoria looked up at Jack and smiled through her tears.

"My father's memory is safe now," Victoria whispered happily.
