Arthur pulled out his phone again and dialed three simple digits immediately.
"I am calling the police right now, Victoria," Arthur announced firmly.
"You are going to face charges for what you tried to do today."
Victoria ran toward the large oak doors to try and escape into the driveway.
Arthur stepped in front of the exit and locked the handle with his key.
"You are not leaving this house until the officers arrive," Arthur said.
Victoria beat her fists against the wooden door in utter anger and despair.
"You cannot do this to me!" Victoria screamed, tears running down her makeup.
"I am your wife! We can fix this together!"
"Our marriage is completely over as of right now," Arthur answered coldly.
"I am filing for divorce and removing you from every bank account today."
Elena stood near the hallway, comforting baby Leo until he stopped crying.
The small boy rested his head gently on Elena's shoulder with soft breaths.
Within ten minutes, red and blue lights flashed through the large front windows.
Two police officers walked into the grand foyer with their badges showing clearly.
Arthur showed them the security video footage on his phone right away.
The officers watched the video once and looked up at Victoria with stern faces.
They placed handcuffs on Victoria's wrists while reading her her legal rights.
Victoria cried out as they led her out through the tall front doors.
The heavy doors shut tight, leaving the grand house quiet and calm again.
Arthur turned around and walked over to Elena and his small baby boy.
He looked at Elena with deep gratitude shining in his tired eyes.
"You saved my son's life today, Elena," Arthur said with a quiet voice.
"I do not know how I can ever repay you for your courage."
"I just did what any decent person would do, sir," Elena replied humbly.
"This child deserves safety and love in his own home."
Arthur offered Elena a permanent role as head caregiver for little Leo.
He promised her a great salary and a safe place for her own future.
Elena smiled softly as baby Leo reached out his little hand toward her.
A dark chapter in the house had closed, and a bright new one was starting.
