Arthur took a deep breath as the security guards held Victoria firm.
He asked his trusted manager to call the local police department immediately.
The guests remained in their seats with shocked expressions on their faces.
Arthur walked toward the stage and picked up the main microphone.
"Thank you all for coming today," Arthur announced to the crowd.
"The wedding celebration is over, but the truth is finally clear."
He walked back to Sarah and asked her to sit in a chair.
He ordered the kitchen staff to bring a clean damp towel for her face.
Sarah wiped her red cheek and smiled faintly at her gentle boss.
"I could not let anything happen to you, sir," Sarah said quietly.
"Your father was always good to my family over the years."
Arthur sat down in the chair right beside his loyal housekeeper.
He asked her how she had managed to record the video clip.
Sarah explained that she saw Victoria acting strangely near the back room.
Victoria had been talking on her cell phone in a low voice.
She was speaking to a man about a large bank transfer.
She mentioned a major life insurance policy worth five million dollars.
The policy would pay out double if Arthur died unexpectedly tonight.
Sarah became suspicious and followed Victoria back to the dining area.
She pulled out her phone just as Victoria opened the small bottle.
Arthur remembered signing a large stack of legal papers last week.
Victoria had told him they were simple papers for the wedding venue.
She had hidden the life insurance contract inside the thick pile.
He had trusted her completely and signed his name on every line.
Cold sweat broke out on Arthur's forehead as he realized the truth.
He had come within inches of losing his life this very evening.
The sound of loud police sirens echoed outside the banquet hall windows.
Two armed police officers stepped through the main glass doors quickly.
Arthur walked over to meet the officers near the heavy entrance doors.
He pointed at Victoria and the empty bottle on the white table.
"She tried to poison my drink," Arthur told the officers clearly.
"We have video evidence and the bottle she used right here."
