Arthur stared down at the small phone screen in Sarah's shaking hand.
A clear video clip began playing on the high-definition display.
The footage clearly showed the dessert table from five minutes earlier.
Victoria's face was fully visible as she emptied the tiny glass bottle.
She stirred the liquid into the champagne with a small spoon.
Arthur gasped loudly as he recognized the woman in the video.
It was the same bride who was standing right next to him.
Victoria tried to snatch the phone away from Sarah's fingers.
Arthur caught Victoria by her wrist and held her tightly in place.
"Is this real?" Arthur asked in a deep cold voice.
Victoria's cheeks went pale white as her eyes grew wide with fear.
She looked around the room at the crowd of staring guests.
"She is lying to you!" Victoria screamed in a desperate panic.
"That video is fake and made to ruin our special day!"
Sarah shook her head slowly and stepped closer to her boss.
"I recorded it from the kitchen hallway, sir," Sarah explained softly.
"I saw her hide the small bottle in her lace purse earlier."
Arthur turned his head toward the bridal table near the stage.
He walked over and picked up Victoria's small white handbag.
He unzipped the main compartment and dumped the contents out entirely.
A small empty glass bottle rolled across the white tablecloth.
It matched the exact vial shown in the phone video footage.
The guests in the hall began whispering to each other loudly.
Victoria backed away slowly toward the large exit doors.
Two heavy security guards stepped up to block her path out.
Arthur stared at his bride with deep pain in his eyes.
He had known Victoria for only six short months before this day.
She had swept into his life after his father passed away.
She always talked about his large family inheritance and mountain house.
Now he understood why she was in such a big hurry to marry.
"You wanted my life insurance money," Arthur said with heavy breath.
Victoria stopped trying to run and pulled her arm free angrily.
Her fake sweet smile was completely gone from her face now.
"You never deserved all that wealth anyway!" Victoria spat out bitterly.
Arthur turned away from her and looked back at Sarah's cheek.
The red mark from Victoria's hand was still visible on her skin.
"I am so sorry she struck you, Sarah," Arthur said softly.
"You just saved my life while risking your own job today."
