Chloe: You will rot in hell, David! You and your freak daughter!
David: Take her away. I never want to see her face again.
Officer Davis: Ma'am, keep moving. Save your breath for the judge.
The front doors slammed shut as the officers loaded Chloe into the back of the patrol vehicle. The high-pitched sirens slowly faded into the distance, leaving the grand mansion completely quiet once again. David dropped to his knees in the middle of the foyer, his eyes filled with tears as he pulled Lily into a tight embrace.
David: I am so sorry, Lily. I am so, so sorry I didn't protect you.
Lily: It's okay, Dad. She can't hurt us anymore.
David: How long did you know? How long were you hiding your voice?
Lily: Since the doctor visit last year. She paid the doctor money to say my ears were broken.
David: Dr. Aris? He was in on this too?
Lily: Yes. He gave her the blue tubes of sleeping medicine.
David: That crooked bastard... he was helping her poison my system slowly over time!
Lily: I saw them talking in the office. They said when you go away, they split the money.
David held his daughter closer, kissing the top of her head. He could hardly process the horror of what had been happening inside his own home for years. The woman he trusted, the doctor he paid, and the staff he hired were all part of a dark scheme to strip him of his wealth and his life.
David: You saved my life tonight, sweetie. You are the bravest girl in the world.
Lily: I was scared, Dad. But I couldn't let her hurt you.
David: You never have to be scared in this house again. I promise you.
Lily: Can we throw away the big dark table?
David: We are selling this entire house, Lily. We are going to start fresh somewhere far away from here.
Lily: Just you and me?
David: Just you and me. Forever.
