David: They were already patrolling the neighborhood, Chloe! You aren't getting away!
Chloe: Let me go, David! I will sign back the power of attorney! I will leave the country and never come back!
David: You belong behind bars for what you did to my daughter and what you tried to do to me!
Chloe: I gave you everything! I pretended to care about your stupid little deaf kid for three whole years!
Lily: I am not stupid! And I can hear everything you say!
Chloe: You fake little monster! You were acting the whole time!
David: She was protecting herself from a psychopath! You forced a child to play mute just to stay alive in her own home!
The front doors burst open, and three uniformed police officers rushed into the grand foyer with their flashlights drawn. The red and blue emergency lights flashed through the tall stained-glass windows, reflecting across the marble floor.
Officer Miller: Police! Stay right where you are! Put your hands in the air!
Chloe: Officers! Thank God you are here! He attacked me! Look at my face, he slapped me!
Officer Miller: Ma'am, step away from the door and place your hands on your head immediately!
David: Officer, she poured chemical poison into my wine glass. The glass shattered on the dining room floor, and it is burning through the marble tiles right now.
Officer Davis: Is this true, ma'am?
Chloe: No! It is a lie! He is trying to frame me so he doesn't have to honor our prenuptial agreement!
Lily: The tablet is in my room! It shows her putting poison in the wine!
Officer Davis: Officer Miller, check the dining room floor. Secure the scene and call the toxic forensics team.
Officer Miller moved past Chloe into the dining room, his heavy boots clicking on the floor. Within seconds, his voice echoed back through the archway, filled with urgency.
Officer Miller: Davis! Get back in here! The floor is literally melting under the table! This is high-concentration acid!
Officer Davis: Turn around, ma'am. Hands behind your back right now.
Chloe: No! Don't touch me! You can't arrest me on a child's word!
Officer Davis: We are arresting you based on physical evidence of dangerous contraband and attempted first-degree murder!
The metal handcuffs clicked tightly around Chloe's wrists. She began to scream and thrash wildly, but the two large officers held her firmly, dragging her down the front marble steps toward the waiting police cruiser.
