David: You forged my signature on a transfer deed?
Chloe: I didn't forge anything! You signed it yourself while you were drunk on the wine I brought you yesterday!
David: You snake... you manipulated my entire life!
Chloe: And now it is all mine! The mansion, the trust fund, the private investments... everything!
Lily: No it isn't! The tablet has the video!
Chloe: Shut up, you little rat!
Chloe lunged forward toward Lily, reaching out her manicured hands to grab the girl's yellow dress. But David reacted instantly, stepping into Chloe's path and shoving her back with full force. Chloe crashed against the polished dark dining table, sending a heavy silver candlestick clattering to the floor.
David: Don't you ever lay a hand on my daughter again!
Chloe: You think a seven-year-old child's tablet video will hold up against my high-powered defense lawyers?
David: What video is she talking about, Chloe? Why are you so terrified of a child's toy?
Lily: I recorded the kitchen! I put the tablet inside the cabinet near the wine bottle!
Chloe: You... you put a camera in the pantry?
Lily: Yes! I saw you put clear liquid in Dad's bottle from the blue tube!
David took a step back, pulling his smartphone from his pocket. His hands were steady now, driven by a deep, protective instinct for his daughter. He dialed three numbers and held the phone to his ear, keeping his eyes locked on Chloe's horrified expression.
David: Emergency services? I need immediate police units and a hazmat unit at 440 Sterling Drive.
Chloe: David, hang up that phone right now!
David: My fiancee has just attempted to poison me with heavy industrial chemicals, and I have digital video evidence of the entire event.
Chloe: David! Please! We can talk about this! We can make a deal!
David: Send multiple officers. She is dangerous and attempting to flee the premises.
Chloe: You fool! You think you can survive without me? My father controls the board of your company!
David: Your father can join you in a state prison cell if he helped you plan this murder!
Chloe turned toward the grand archway leading to the main foyer, running as fast as her high heels would allow. Her black dress swished against the white marble floor as she sprinted toward the heavy wooden front doors. But before she could reach the brass handle, the loud sound of blaring police sirens echoed through the long driveway outside.
