The Web of Lies Unravels

Paramedic: Her vitals are stable, Mr. Sterling. The baby's heartbeat is strong and regular.

Julian: Thank God... thank God.

Clara: I told you our little guy was tough, Julian.

Paramedic: We still need to transport her to the hospital for full observation and imaging checks.

Julian: I'm coming with you in the ambulance.

Police Officer: Mr. Sterling? I'm Officer Rodriguez. We need a statement about what happened here before you leave.

Julian turned toward the police officer standing near the grand staircase, pointing directly up at Evelyn.

Julian: That woman pushed my pregnant wife over the second-floor balcony railing.

Evelyn: That is an absolute lie! It was a tragic accident! She tripped over her own long dress!

Officer Rodriguez: Ma'am, please step down to the ground floor so we can talk to you properly.

Evelyn: I will do no such thing! Call my lawyer immediately!

Clara: Officer, look at the security camera mounted right above the hallway ceiling line.

Evelyn froze on the top step of the staircase, her eyes darting toward the tiny black dome mounted on the beam.

Officer Rodriguez: Is that camera operational, Mr. Sterling?

Julian: Yes. It records twenty-four hours a day directly to a secure cloud server managed by our estate security team.

Evelyn: That camera system has been broken for months! I told the maintenance crew to disable it!

Julian: I had it fixed last week, Evelyn. I knew money was disappearing from the corporate accounts.

Evelyn: You sneaked around behind my back in my own house?

Julian: I was protecting my family's legacy from whoever was stealing our inheritance money!

Officer Rodriguez: Officer Miller, go upstairs and secure the server room equipment right now.

Officer Miller: On it, sir.

Evelyn: You have no right to search this house without a formal warrant!

Officer Rodriguez: When a violent felony like attempted homicide is reported, ma'am, we secure all relevant evidence immediately.

Clara: Show him the second document, Julian. The one about the life insurance policy.

Julian pulled a folded sheet of paper from his coat pocket and handed it to the officer.

Julian: This is a modified policy document for my late father's payout. She forged my signature to redirect two million dollars into an offshore trust fund.

Officer Rodriguez: This is very serious, ma'am. If these signatures are fraudulent, it's grand larceny and bank fraud on top of assault.

Evelyn: My husband wanted me to have that money! He made me a verbal promise before he died!

Julian: Verbal promises don't override a legally binding will and testament, mother.

Evelyn: You ungrateful boy! I raised you! I built this estate into what it is today!

Julian: You built it by lying to dad and robbing your own children!

Paramedic: Sir, we need to load your wife onto the gurney now so we can head to the medical center.

Julian: Go ahead. I'll be right behind you after I finish signing the initial police reports.

Clara: Be careful, Julian. She won't give up without a fight.

Julian: She doesn't have a choice anymore, Clara. The truth is out.
