David: Get your foot off her hand right now, Mother!
Victoria: David, listen to me! She attacked me first! Look up there, she turned on the emergency system!
Sarah: I didn't touch her, David! She stepped on my hand! She’s been forcing me to sign the estate waiver!
Victoria: She’s lying! Look at the corner of the wall! The security camera is active!
David looked up toward the ceiling molding where a small glass dome camera sat silent, a steady red LED light blinking against the white plaster.
David: What the hell are you doing, Mother?! What were you doing to Sarah?!
Victoria: I was defending myself, David! She came into the villa demanding the trust fund paperwork and tried to strike me!
Sarah: That is an absolute lie! She summoned me here under the pretext of discussing Dad’s funeral arrangements!
David: Shut up, Mother! Just shut your mouth!
Victoria: How dare you talk to your mother like that over a girl who hasn't stepped foot in this house for five years!
David: I’m talking to you like this because I see what you're doing with my own eyes!
Victoria: You don't understand the full situation! She threatened to take the villa away from us!
David: I don't care about the villa! I care about what you just did to my sister!
Victoria: Half-sister, David! She is not full family and she has no right to your father's money!
David’s face turned bright red as he stormed forward across the polished marble floor. He didn't just step between them—he grabbed Victoria by the arms and shoved her backward with all his strength.
Victoria: David! Stop it! What are you doing?!
David: Get away from her! Get the hell out of this hall!
Victoria: Don't you put your hands on me! I am the head of this household!
David: Not anymore, you're not!
David pushed her again, forcing her backward through the open glass patio doors that led out onto the sunlit deck. Victoria stumbled on her high heels, flailing her arms as her balance failed her right at the edge of the deep outdoor swimming pool.
With a massive splash, Victoria fell backward directly into the water, her burgundy dress weighing her down as she gasped for air and splashed frantically against the surface.
Victoria: David! Help me! Help me out!
David: Stay in the water and cool off, Mother!
David turned his back on the pool without hesitation and rushed back into the living hall. He dropped to his knees right beside Sarah, who was cradling her bruised, bleeding hand against her chest under the shadow of the American flag.
David: Sarah! Oh God, Sarah, let me see your hand.
Sarah: David... it hurts so bad... I think she broke my fingers...
David: Shh, don't move. I'm here, it's alright now. I'm so sorry I didn't get here sooner.
David wrapped his arms tightly around her shoulders, lifting her into a protective embrace as she sobbed into the lapel of his black tuxedo jacket.
