Victoria: You... you put a camera up here to spy on me?!
David: I put a camera up here to protect my child from a monster! And thank God I did!
Victoria: David, sweetheart, you don't understand how stressful it's been for me! Being a stepmother to a child that isn't mine is hard!
David: You don't get to use stress as an excuse for trying to murder an infant!
David pulled out his smartphone, tapping the screen quickly to bring up the live cloud storage app. He held the phone inches away from Victoria's pale face.
David: Look at it! Look at what you did!
On the high-definition screen, the video played clearly. It showed Victoria walking out onto the balcony holding baby Lily by her leg, laughing coldly as she dangled the screaming child over the edge. The audio was crystal clear, capturing her exact words echoing through the house.
Video Voice (Victoria): Say goodbye to your precious child.
David: Do you hear that?! That is your voice! You did this on purpose!
Victoria: David, delete that video right now! If that gets out, my family's business will be ruined!
David: Your family's business is the least of your concerns, Victoria. You are going to state prison for this!
Victoria: I'll hire the best defense attorney in Texas! They'll say the video was edited! They'll say the maid framed me!
David: Good luck with that. My legal team represents the largest firm in Dallas. You won't even get bail after a judge sees this recording.
Victoria's arrogance began to crumble into pure, unadulterated panic. She dropped to her knees on the balcony floor, surrounded by the broken crystal pieces of the shattered vase, and clutched David's leather shoes.
Victoria: David, please! I'll sign the divorce papers today! I'll walk away without asking for a single penny from the estate or the company!
David: You don't have a choice about the money anyway! The prenup voids everything!
Victoria: Just don't press criminal charges! Don't ruin my life over a mistake!
David: A mistake is dropping a glass of water, Victoria! What you did was an act of pure evil!
Down in the foyer, the sound of loud, wailing police sirens echoed through the long gated driveway of the mansion estate. Red and blue lights flashed against the grand front windows, illuminating the black-and-white checkered floor.
David: Do you hear that? That's the Dallas Police Department.
Victoria: No... no! You actually called them?!
David: I called them the second I saw the security alert on my phone at the office. I drove ninety miles an hour to get here, but Sarah saved my girl before I could even park the car.
Victoria: David, I beg you! Tell them it was a misunderstanding! Tell them we solved it privately!
David: Get your hands off my shoes.
David pulled his foot back, letting Victoria slump onto the hard wooden floor as heavy footsteps rushed through the front double doors below.
