The Monster On The Balcony

Her Stepmother Dropped Her Baby Until The Maid Stepped In

David: Did you really think you could get away with hurting my daughter?

Victoria: David, darling, please listen to me! The maid is lying to you!

David: Lying?! I saw you leaning over the rail when I opened the front door!

Victoria: It was an accident! I was showing Lily the chandelier and she slipped out of my hands!

Sarah: That is a lie, Mr. Sterling! She was dangling her by one ankle and saying goodbye!

David: Shut up, Victoria! Don't you dare say another word to defend yourself!

David stepped closer to Victoria, his hands clenching into tight fists at his sides as his chest heaved with fury. Up close, Victoria could see the veins bulging on his forehead and the sheer hatred burning in his dark eyes.

Victoria: David, you know how nervous I get around babies! I didn't mean to drop her!

David: You held a six-month-old baby upside down over a marble floor! That is not an accident, that is attempted murder!

Victoria: I am your wife! You can't speak to me like this in front of the house staff!

David: You are not my wife anymore! The prenuptial agreement we signed specifically states that any act of violence against my daughter voids your right to my estate, my money, and this house!

Victoria's face turned completely white as the word prenup left his mouth. She clutched the golden fabric of her dress, taking a step toward him with her hands raised in desperate panic.

Victoria: David, please! Think about our reputation in Dallas! Think about the charity gala next week!

David: I don't give a damn about a gala! My daughter almost died today because I was stupid enough to trust a snake like you!

Down in the foyer, Sarah rocked little Lily back and forth, gently checking her arms, legs, and head to ensure there were no injuries from the terrifying fall.

Sarah: Shh, baby girl, you're safe now. Your daddy is here, and nobody is ever going to hurt you again.

David: Sarah, bring Lily up to the master bedroom and lock the door behind you!

Sarah: Yes, Mr. Sterling! Right away!

Victoria: Don't you walk away from me, Sarah! Give me that baby right now so I can prove I'm a good mother!

David: Touch her again and I swear to God I won't wait for the police to handle you!

David shoved Victoria backward when she tried to reach for the staircase. She stumbled over her golden dress, crashing hard against the decorative wooden table on the balcony, sending a crystal vase shattering onto the floor.

Victoria: AHH! You pushed me! You're assaulting me!

David: I am removing a intruder from my home! Get your things and get out before the cops arrive!

Victoria: I'm not going anywhere! Half of this mansion is legally mine until a judge says otherwise!

David: We'll see about that when the police look at the security footage from the hallway camera.

Victoria froze mid-sentence, her jaw dropping as she looked up at the corner of the ceiling. A small red light blinked quietly inside a black dome camera mounted right above the balcony doors.

Victoria: Camera...? Since when is there a camera up here?

David: Since yesterday, when Sarah told me you were treating my daughter cruelly when I was at work!
