The Dropped Baby On Stone

He Stopped His Wife From Dropping His Son On Marble

Arthur: "Elena! Why are you on the floor with Leo?!"

Nora: "Arthur, darling! Thank goodness you're back!"

Arthur: "Nora, stay right there! Elena, speak to me!"

Elena: "Sir, she tried to throw your baby onto the marble floor!"

Nora: "That is an absolute lie! The maid tripped while holding him!"

Elena: "I was across the room wiping the glass when I saw her lift him up and throw him!"

Arthur dropped to his knees on the cold white marble beside Elena, his hands shaking as he touched Leo's soft cheek.

Arthur: "Is he hurt?! Did he hit the floor?!"

Elena: "No, sir! I caught him just before he hit the ground! He's just terrified!"

Arthur: "Thank God... Thank God you were here, Elena."

Arthur pulled Leo into his arms, holding his son tightly against his maroon tuxedo jacket as the baby's cries began to quiet down.

Nora: "Arthur, you can't seriously believe a maid over your own wife!"

Arthur: "Shut up, Nora!"

Nora: "She is trying to cover up her own carelessness! She almost dropped our stepson!"

Arthur: "He is my biological son, Nora! And you have hated him since the day we got married!"

Arthur stood up slowly, passing Leo back into Elena's gentle care with a soft nod.

Arthur: "Take him to the nursery, Elena. Lock the door from the inside."

Elena: "Yes, Mr. Sterling. Right away."

Arthur turned around, his face turning pale with pure, unadulterated fury as he glared at Nora in her green velvet dress.

Nora: "Arthur, don't look at me like that. I am your wife!"

Arthur: "You are a monster!"

Arthur lunged forward, grabbing Nora by her velvet collar and shoving her back with all his force.

Nora shrieked as her heels slipped on the polished marble, sending her tumbling hard onto her back with a loud thud.

Nora: "AH! My back! Arthur, you assaulted me!"

Arthur: "GET OUT OF MY SIGHT! YOU'LL SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE IN PRISON!"

Nora: "You have no proof! You can't prove a single thing!"

Arthur: "You think I'm stupid, Nora?! Look up at the wall!"

Nora's eyes darted toward the high ceiling, where a small black lens glinted right beside the framed American flag.

Nora: "A camera...? Since when is there a camera in the foyer?!"

Arthur: "Since last week, when I started noticing unexplainable bruises on my son's arms!"

Nora gasped, her face draining of all color as she lay on the cold marble floor, realizing her cruel game was finally over.
