The heavy front doors swung open as four uniformed Dallas police officers and two paramedics rushed into the mansion living room. The paramedics immediately set down a folding stretcher beside Evelyn, dropping to their knees to check her vital signs.
Paramedic: "She's severely malnourished and dehydrated, sir. We need to transport her to Dallas General Hospital right now."
Julian: "I'm coming with her. Maya, please ride in the front seat with us."
Maya: "Of course, Mr. Vance."
Officer Miller: "Which one of you is Julian Vance?"
Julian: "I am. And that woman standing in the golden gown is Eleanor Vance. She kidnapped my wife and held her captive beneath this floor for two years."
Officer Miller: "Ma'am, step away from the doorway and keep your hands where we can see them."
Eleanor: "This is a private family matter! My lawyers will have your badges if you lay a finger on me!"
Officer Miller: "Ma'am, you are under arrest for aggravated kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and first-degree felony endangerment."
The officers moved in swiftly, grabbing Eleanor's wrists behind her back and snapping heavy steel handcuffs into place. Eleanor gasped as the metal clicked tight, her golden gown bustling against the police officer's dark uniform.
Eleanor: "Julian! Tell them to release me! You cannot let your own flesh and blood be dragged out of this house in chains!"
Julian: "You ceased being my family the moment you turned my home into a prison."
Eleanor: "I did it for the Vance fortune! I did it for you!"
Julian: "Officer, check the basement wine cellar. There's an iron door behind the vintage racks where her accomplice was feeding her."
Officer Miller: "We have a tactical team already securing the basement level, sir. We found the guard down there attempting to burn log books."
Eleanor: "You traitorous old fool! You were supposed to clear the cellar!"
Officer Miller: "Sounds like your accomplice is already confessing, ma'am. Walk."
The officers escorted the screaming, cursing old woman out through the main doors, her golden dress trailing along the driveway pavement as she was pushed into the back of a police cruiser. The heavy doors slammed shut, cutting off her voice completely.
Julian walked alongside the paramedics as they carefully lifted Evelyn onto the stretcher, rolling her gently toward the waiting ambulance outside.
Evelyn: "Julian... don't leave my side..."
Julian: "I will never leave you again, Evelyn. Never."
Maya: "I brought her shoes and a heavy coat, Mr. Vance."
Julian: "Thank you, Maya. When we get to the hospital, I want my legal team to write up a permanent contract for you as the head estate administrator."
Maya: "Mr. Vance, you don't have to do that..."
Julian: "You saved my wife's life today. You will never have to clean a floor on your knees again as long as you live."
