Justice In The Suite

Inside the luxurious hotel suite, Marcus Vance stood beside a glass conference table holding a fountain pen over a blue document.

Evelyn sat in an armchair beside him, holding a glass of champagne with a triumphant smile on her face.

Her smile instantly shattered as she saw Mark walk into the room behind three armed police officers.

Evelyn: MARK?! How did you find us here?!

Marcus: What is the meaning of this intrusion, Officer?! We are conducting a private business meeting!

Detective Miller: Step away from the table, Mr. Vance! Put the pen down and place your hands on your head!

Marcus: I am a shareholder in Vance Logistics! I have every right to transfer my stock!

Mark: Those aren't your stock certificates, Marcus! You stole them out of my private home safe three days ago!

Marcus: You have no proof of that accusation!

Arthur: We have crystal-clear camera and audio footage of you using a digital lock bypass in Mr. Vance's study, Marcus!

Detective Miller grabbed Marcus's arm, pulling his hands behind his back and snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists.

Marcus: Evelyn, you told me there were no security cameras in that study!

Evelyn: I didn't know! He hid them inside the smoke detectors!

Mark: You thought you were so clever, Evelyn. You thought you could abuse my daughter and steal my company at the same time.

Evelyn: Mark, please! Marcus forced me to do it! He threatened to leak private photos of me if I didn't help him!

Marcus: You lying snake! You came to me six months ago with this entire plan!

Detective Miller: Save it for the courtroom, both of you! You are under arrest for grand larceny, industrial espionage, and conspiracy!

An officer pulled Evelyn up from the armchair, cuffing her wrists behind her back as her champagne glass shattered on the floor.

Evelyn: Mark, please forgive me! I love you! We can start over!

Mark: You made my seven-year-old daughter eat out of a pet bowl on a cold floor, Evelyn. I wouldn't forgive you if you lived a thousand years.

The officers led Marcus and Evelyn out of the hotel suite, their shouts echoing down the carpeted hallway as hotel guests watched in shock.

Mark picked up the blue folder from the conference table, opening it to verify his original stock certificates were completely intact.

Arthur: Everything is right here, Mark. The company is completely secure.

Mark: Thanks, Arthur. Let's get back home to Maya.

An hour later, the afternoon sun shone brightly over the Vance estate in Dallas.

Mark sat at the kitchen table, watching Maya happily eat chocolate chip pancakes with extra whipped cream.

The gold locket sparkled around her neck, reflecting the bright light pouring through the wide glass windows.

Maya: Daddy, are we going to be happy now?

Mark: We are going to be happier than ever, sweetie. Just you, me, and Mr. Brown.

Maya giggled, holding up a small piece of pancake for her teddy bear as Mark smiled warmly at his daughter.

The dark storm had passed, and justice had finally restored peace to their home.
