The Father Answers Call

A Stepmother Ruined His Daughter Cake And Lost Everything

David heard his daughter's frightened cry echoing through the wide stone hallway.

He immediately dropped his important phone call with the family lawyer on the rug.

His heart skipped a beat as he sprinted fast toward the sunroom.

David rounded the corner and saw the shocking scene inside the room.

His sweet daughter was sitting on the floor surrounded by broken porcelain pieces.

Pink frosting was smeared across her special memory dress and her arms.

Vanessa was standing directly over the child with a harsh expression on her face.

David rushed forward and instantly scooped his sobbing daughter into his arms.

He pulled Lily tight against his chest to protect her from any danger.

David: It is okay, sweetie, daddy is right here with you now.

Lily wrapped her small arms tightly around her father's neck while crying.

Lily: She pushed my plate and yelled at me, daddy!

David's expression hardened into an intense and cold rage as he looked up.

He gently wiped the tears from his young daughter's frosting-covered cheeks.

Vanessa quickly changed her face from a scowl into a fake expression of worry.

She folded her hands together and tried to sound innocent and gentle.

Vanessa: Oh David, it was just a total accident, I swear!

David: An accident does not look like this, Vanessa.

Vanessa: She reached for the plate too fast and knocked it over herself!

Vanessa: I was just trying to help her clean up before you came in.

David looked closely at Vanessa's eyes and saw no real worry or love.

He remembered how careful his daughter always was when eating her sweet treats.

He also noticed that Vanessa's hand had frosting on the side of her knuckles.

David: You expect me to believe my three-year-old child threw her own cake?

Vanessa: Kids are clumsy all the time, David, you pamper her way too much!

Vanessa: It was only a cake, why are you making such a huge deal?

David stood up straight while holding his crying daughter safely in his arms.

His voice was trembling with deep emotional anger that had been building up.

David: You scared my child and ruined her mother's dress on purpose.

Vanessa: You are taking the word of a baby over your future wife!

David looked at the wall near the top corner of the sunroom ceiling.

A small red light was blinking steadily inside a high-definition security camera body.
