General Vance turned to face his daughter with immense pride shining in his eyes.
"You did an outstanding job staying calm under pressure, Specialist," General Vance said.
"I followed my duty and my training, General," Sarah answered with a respectful salute.
"You protected the soldiers who rely on these vehicles every single day," Vance replied.
He placed a warm, reassuring hand on her shoulder in front of the unit.
"Effective immediately, this logistics unit is placed under new, honest command structure," Vance announced.
He looked at the remaining honest mechanics who had gathered around the staging area.
"Specialist Vance, you are hereby promoted to Sergeant for exemplary leadership and integrity."
The surrounding soldiers immediately broke into genuine applause for their newly promoted leader.
Sarah smiled brightly as she accepted the new sergeant rank insignia pins from him.
She had earned this promotion through pure courage, truth, and dedication to her duty.
She had proven that integrity is far stronger than corrupt authority could ever be.
The faulty transport trucks were immediately grounded for complete and safe maintenance overhauls.
No soldier on this base would ever be forced to compromise on safety again.
Sarah walked proudly back toward the hangar bay to lead her team's work.
She knew that doing the right thing was always worth the difficult fight.
Justice had prevailed completely on the airfield because one brave voice refused to yield.
