Evelyn realized that there was no way out of her terrible lie now.
The video evidence was completely clear and could not be argued against anymore.
"I didn't mean to drop her! I was just trying to scare Sarah!"
"I wanted Sarah to look irresponsible so you would fire her!" Evelyn confessed.
"I wanted to take care of the child so you would pay me!"
Richard raised his hand to stop her from speaking any further absurd lies.
"You are a sick and selfish woman, Evelyn," Richard said with authority.
"I am pressing full legal charges against you for child endangerment today."
Evelyn gasped in complete horror as Richard pressed the call button on phone.
"You can't do that to your own sister! I will go to prison!"
"You should have thought about that before you endangered my daughter," Richard answered.
Within fifteen short minutes, two city police officers arrived at the mansion entrance.
Richard showed the clear security camera footage to the officers on the spot.
The officers reviewed the video carefully and nodded their heads in stern agreement.
"Evelyn Vance, you are under arrest for felony endangerment of a child."
An officer placed metallic handcuffs around Evelyn's wrists behind her gold dress.
Evelyn began to cry real tears as she was led toward the exit.
"Richard, please forgive me! Don't let them take me away!" she pleaded.
Richard stood beside his wife and held her hand tightly without looking back.
"You brought this entirely on yourself, Evelyn. Goodbye," Richard said firmly.
The officers escorted Evelyn out through the double doors and into the cruiser.
The front doors closed with a solid sound, bringing peace back inside.
Richard turned to Clara and pulled her into a warm, protective embrace.
"She will never come near our family ever again," Richard promised her.
Sarah walked down the grand staircase carrying little Lily, who was now smiling.
Clara rushed over and took her baby into her arms, kissing her cheek.
"Thank you so much for saving her, Sarah," Clara said with gratitude.
"You are a true part of this family, and we appreciate you."
Richard smiled as he looked at his wife, child, and faithful nanny.
He knew that their home was finally safe from green-eyed jealousy and deceit.
They walked into the bright living room together, leaving the dark past behind.
