First Deputy: Freeze! Nobody move a muscle!
Two uniform county sheriff deputies rushed through the front double doors, their heavy boots echoing across the grand foyer.
Eleanor: Officer, thank goodness! These people have subjected me to unlawful confinement and verbal assault!
First Deputy: Mrs. Eleanor Vance? We have an active warrant for your arrest on charges of attempted murder.
Eleanor: Arrest? On whose authority? This is a ridiculous domestic misunderstanding!
Marcus: On the authority of high-definition security footage and federal wire fraud charges.
First Deputy: Step away from the railing, ma'am. Place your hands behind your back immediately.
Eleanor: Don't you dare touch me! Do you know who my primary donors are in this county?
First Deputy: We know exactly who you are, Mrs. Vance. Now turn around or we will use physical restraint.
Cold steel handcuffs snapped tightly around Eleanor's wrists as she thrashed against the deputies in furious desperation.
Eleanor: You will pay for this, Marcus! I will make sure you never see another cent of inheritance!
Marcus: Keep your money, Eleanor. My family's safety is worth infinitely more than your dirty gold.
Clara: Take her away before she breathes another toxic word in this house.
Eleanor: You haven't seen the last of me, Clara! You're still just a servant!
First Deputy: Keep moving, ma'am. Any further statements will be used directly against you in court.
The deputies guided her firmly toward the front exit, her dark green dress swishing furiously against the marble floor.
Maya: Is the bad lady gone forever now, Daddy?
Marcus looked down at our newborn son with a soft, tearful smile, brushing a gentle finger against his cheek.
Marcus: She's gone, sweetheart. She's never coming back to hurt us.
