The Hospital Emergency Room

When My Sister In Law Betrayed My Pregnant Wife Completely

The bright white lights of the hospital hallway blurred past fast.

Nurses pushed Ellen's stretcher into the trauma bay with rapid speed.

Mark walked briskly alongside them while holding her left hand firm.

Doctor: Sir, you need to wait out in the hallway.

Mark: That is my wife and my unborn child in there!

Doctor: We need space to examine her safely right now.

The heavy double doors closed tightly in Mark's worried face.

He stood alone in the cold hospital corridor feeling completely helpless.

He wiped sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand.

His phone rang loudly inside his dark jacket pocket suddenly.

He pulled it out and saw his brother's name on screen.

Mark: David, do you have any idea what Sarah did?

David: Mark, I just got a call from the police department!

Mark: She ambushed Ellen at our house and hurt her!

David: She lost her mind over those fake bank papers, Mark.

Mark: What do you mean by fake bank papers, David?

David: Uncle Robert tricked her into thinking Ellen stole her money.

Mark felt his heart drop straight into his cold stomach instantly.

Uncle Robert had been managing the family trust fund for ten years.

Mark: Uncle Robert set this entire attack up himself?

David: He drained Sarah's account and blamed Ellen to cover up!

Mark: I am going to destroy him for doing this.

David: I am driving to the hospital right now, Mark.

Mark hung up the phone and slammed his fist against drywall.

The sheer cruelty of his family left him completely speechless inside.

Ten minutes passed before the lead doctor walked out the doors.

Mark jumped up from the plastic chair in the waiting area.

Mark: How are my wife and my baby doing, doctor?

Doctor: Your wife suffered high emotional trauma and bruising.

Mark: But is the baby safe right now?

Doctor: The baby's heartbeat is strong and steady, sir.

Mark let out a long breath of pure relief and gratitude.

Tears of joy finally spilled down his tired pale cheeks.

Mark: Can I please go in and see her now?

Doctor: Yes, but she needs total rest and zero stress.

Mark walked quietly into the dimly lit hospital room near back.

Ellen lay on the bed with heart monitors hooked to her.

She turned her head slowly and gave him a gentle smile.

Ellen: The doctor said our little baby is safe, Mark.

Mark: I know, sweetie, everything is going to be okay.

Ellen: Why did Sarah hate me so much to do that?

Mark: She was lied to by Uncle Robert, but that changes nothing.

Mark: She will answer for what she did in court soon.
