Paramedic Dan knelt down beside Clara, placing a stethoscope on her bump while his partner wrapped a heated blanket around her shoulders.
Clara: Is the baby okay? Please tell me my baby is okay...
Paramedic Dan: Heartbeat is strong, ma'am, but your blood pressure is dangerously high from the trauma. We need to take you to the hospital right away for an ultrasound.
Marcus: I'm coming with you in the ambulance.
Evelyn: Officer, this is a massive family misunderstanding! I am Evelyn Vance, owner of Vance Enterprises!
Officer Henderson: Ma'am, step back from the paramedics.
Evelyn: My daughter-in-law slipped on the wet deck! I was trying to save her, and my son is misinterpreting the situation!
Marcus: Officer, the entire incident was captured on our security system. My house manager also witnessed the assault directly.
Sarah: I saw Mrs. Vance grab her by the shoulders and shove her with full force into the deep end, Officer.
Toby: I saw it too! Grandma pushed Mommy into the water!
Evelyn: Toby! How dare you lie about your grandmother?! I bought you those expensive toys last week!
Officer Henderson: Ma'am, do not address the child! Stand against the wall!
Evelyn: You cannot speak to me like that! Do you know who my lawyer is?!
Officer Henderson: I don't care who your lawyer is. Officer Miller, secure the video footage with Mr. Vance.
Officer Miller walked over to the patio wall and looked at the security camera feed on Marcus's phone.
Officer Miller: The footage is completely clear, Henderson. The suspect clearly shoves the victim backward with two hands into six feet of water.
Officer Henderson: Evelyn Vance, turn around and put your hands behind your back.
Evelyn: Get your hands off me! You are making a huge mistake!
Officer Henderson pulled Evelyn's hands behind her back and clicked the cold steel handcuffs around her wrists.
Evelyn: Marcus! Tell them to release me! You can't let them arrest your own mother in front of the neighbors!
Marcus: You made your choice, Evelyn. Now you get to live with the consequences.
Evelyn: I will disown you! I will strip you of every title in the company!
Marcus: You don't own the company anymore, Evelyn. I fired you from the board of directors two weeks ago after finding the forged financial statements.
Evelyn: You... you knew about the statements?!
Marcus: I knew everything. I was going to give you a chance to resign quietly today, but you proved you're a threat to my family.
