Mark stepped out of the bathroom while holding his son very carefully.
Victoria was standing at the end of the long hallway with a cold smile.
She was wearing an expensive black dress and simple diamond earrings.
Her dark hair fell neatly over her shoulders as she crossed her arms.
Mark stared at her with pure anger burning in his eyes.
He could not believe she would put a baby in danger for money.
"You are a monster for doing this," Mark said with a deep voice.
Victoria just laughed softly and took a slow step forward on the tile.
"I wanted to show you how quickly your world can break," Victoria replied.
"You think you can keep this mansion and your trust fund forever?" she asked.
Mark gripped his son closer to his chest to protect him from her.
behind him on the wall hung a large framed American flag.
Mark looked right into Victoria's dark eyes without showing any fear now.
"You will lose everything!" Mark shouted, pointing his finger at her face.
"Your name, your money, this house, everything!" he shouted with strong passion.
Victoria stopped walking and her smile quickly disappeared from her lips.
She had never heard Mark speak with so much raw force before.
"You have no proof of anything," Victoria said, trying to stay calm.
"The judge will see that you left the baby unattended," she added lied.
Mark knew she had set a trap to make him look bad in court.
She wanted the custody papers signed so she could claim the life insurance policy.
Mark stepped closer to her, making sure his shadow covered her face.
"And you will never touch my child again!" Mark declared loudly.
Victoria took a step backward because she saw his determination.
She realized Mark was not the weak man she thought he was.
He was ready to fight with every legal weapon he had left.
The air between them felt thick with tension and deep hatred.
Then the loud sound of sirens echoed from outside the driveway.
Victoria's eyes went wide as red light flashed through the front window.
