Victoria was carrying two large designer leather bags down the grand curved stairs.
She froze on the middle step as Richard stepped out into the bright foyer center.
The huge American flag hung quietly on the wall right behind her shoulder.
Victoria: I am going to stay at my mother's house in town for a week.
Victoria: You need time to calm down after your dramatic outburst this morning.
Richard: Put those bags down right now, Victoria.
Victoria: Do not order me around like one of your office employees, Richard!
Richard walked slowly toward the base of the stairs with a cold stare.
Richard: I know all about Marcus Vance and the custody papers you filed.
Victoria dropped one of her heavy leather bags onto the marble step with a thud.
Her face went completely pale as her eyes widened in sudden surprise.
Victoria: I do not know what silly story Marcus has been telling you!
Richard: He did not tell me anything, Victoria.
Richard: The new ceiling cameras caught every single angle of your call this morning.
Victoria gripped the iron handrail tightly as her knuckles turned dead white.
Victoria: You recorded me inside my own private residence without asking?
Richard: You lifted my six-year-old daughter over a high balcony railing for money!
Victoria: That footage proves nothing! It was an absolute misunderstanding!
Richard: It proves attempted murder and massive financial fraud, Victoria.
Victoria took a quick step down the marble stairs toward the lower landing.
Victoria: You will never prove anything in court without my lawyer present!
Richard: My divorce lawyer Arthur already sent the video directly to the police chief.
Richard: They are entering the main security gates of our neighborhood right now.
Victoria dropped her second leather bag and backed away toward the front door.
Victoria: You cannot ruin my life over a tiny mistake, Richard!
Richard: You tried to take my daughter's life for a three million dollar trust fund!
Richard: Your life in this town is officially over starting today.
The sound of heavy tires crunching on the gravel driveway outside filled the foyer.
