Two police officers in dark uniforms rushed through the front double doors.
Their heavy boots made loud clicking sounds across the clean marble floor.
Mark pointed his right finger straight up toward the grand curved staircase.
Mark: She is up there! She pushed my pregnant daughter!
Officer: Stay right here, sir, we will handle this now.
The two officers ran fast up the steps of the grand curved staircase.
Evelyn stood trapped near the top landing with no place left to hide.
She tried to speak, but the lead officer held up his hand firmly.
Officer: Evelyn Davis, do not make any sudden movements.
Evelyn: You have no right to touch me in my home!
Officer: You are under arrest for dangerous assault.
Evelyn: This is a massive mistake! My lawyer will destroy you!
The officer turned Evelyn around swiftly and pulled her arms behind her back.
A loud metallic clinking sound filled the grand foyer as silver handcuffs closed tight.
Evelyn gasped in disbelief as the cold steel locked around her wrists.
The two officers escorted her down the grand staircase under the American flag.
Mark stood at the bottom of the stairs with his arms crossed tight.
Evelyn glared at her husband as she was led toward the open front door.
Evelyn: Mark, tell them to stop this nonsense right now!
Mark: You are going to prison for what you did today, Evelyn.
Evelyn: I am your wife! You cannot do this to me!
Mark: You are no longer my wife, and our prenup is void.
Evelyn: You will lose everything if you file for divorce!
Mark: The security cameras in the foyer caught every single second on tape.
Evelyn's face went completely red as she realized her plan had failed totally.
The officers led her out the front doors into the bright Texas daylight.
Mark watched the police car drive away before heading straight to his car.
