Three days after the incident on the balcony, the Vance mansion was filled with legal advisors and investigators. Arthur Vance, Julian's primary corporate attorney, sat at the large mahogany desk in the study, reviewing a stack of police reports and bank records.
Arthur: "Julian, the police investigation has uncovered far more than we initially expected."
Julian: "What else did she do, Arthur?"
Arthur: "Detectives searched Victoria's personal laptop. Over the past three months, she made dozens of search queries regarding fatal falls, balcony heights, and toddler impact survival rates."
Julian clenched his fist tightly, his knuckles turning white with anger.
Julian: "She was calculating how to kill my daughter for months?!"
Arthur: "Yes. Furthermore, she forged your signature on an insurance application two weeks ago, taking out a three-million-dollar life insurance policy on Lily."
Julian: "That evil woman... she planned every single detail!"
Arthur: "This evidence completely solidifies the charge of premeditated attempted murder. The district attorney has already denied her bail. She will remain in county jail until the trial."
Sarah entered the study holding a tray with warm tea, setting it down gently on the table.
Sarah: "Excuse me, Mr. Vance, I just put Lily down for her afternoon nap."
Julian: "Thank you, Sarah. Please, sit down with us."
Sarah: "Oh, I shouldn't intrude on your legal meeting, sir."
Julian: "You aren't intruding. Arthur, I want to officially add Sarah to our estate trust fund as a life-long beneficiary."
Sarah gasped, her hands trembling as she looked at Julian in disbelief.
Sarah: "Mr. Vance... no! I can't accept that! You already pay me so well!"
Julian: "Sarah, you dived onto a hard stone floor without a second thought to catch my daughter. You took the blow that could have killed her. No amount of money can ever repay that loyalty, but you will never have to work another day in your life unless you want to."
Arthur: "I will prepare the trust amendment right away, Julian. It is entirely deserved."
Tears gathered in Sarah's eyes as she looked from Arthur to Julian.
Sarah: "Thank you, Mr. Vance... Thank you so much. I promise to always protect Lily."
Julian: "I know you will, Sarah. You've already proven it."
Arthur gathered his legal files into his briefcase and stood up, adjusting his suit jacket.
Arthur: "Regarding the pre-nuptial agreement, Victoria's attempt to commit a felony against your family completely voids all financial claims. She won't receive a single dollar of alimony or settlement money."
Julian: "Good. Make sure her legal team knows we will fight every single appeal she tries to file."
Arthur: "Consider it done, Julian. Rest easy. She will never step foot in this house again."
