A Voice In The Hallway

The Maid Saved The Baby And Revealed The Truth

Sarah stood near the top of the grand marble stairs, holding her breath.

She heard Victoria pacing back and forth inside the nursery room.

The baby started crying softly, his sweet voice echoing through the quiet halls.

Sarah's heart raced as she listened to Victoria's heavy footsteps.

Suddenly, Victoria walked out of the room holding the baby wrapped in white.

She walked directly toward the open balcony overlooking the huge main foyer.

Sarah hid behind a tall stone pillar to watch what was happening.

Victoria looked down over the edge of the high railing with a strange look.

The baby cried louder, wriggling inside the soft blanket.

Victoria lifted the small child near the top bar of the railing.

Sarah felt her blood run cold as she saw the terrible sight.

"What are you doing?" Sarah shouted, breaking her silence instantly.

Victoria turned her head sharply, caught off guard by the loud shout.

Her hands slipped slightly on the slippery fabric of the white blanket.

The baby slipped forward over the smooth wooden edge of the balcony.

Sarah did not hesitate for even a single second.

She sprinted forward across the slick marble floor with all her strength.

She leaped down the last few steps of the main staircase with open arms.

She reached out as the baby fell into the open air above her.

Sarah caught the infant securely against her chest and tumbled to the floor.

The hard marble bruised her knees, but she held the baby tight.

Leo screamed in terror, his tiny body trembling in her arms.

"I've got you, sweet boy," Sarah sobbed, cradling his small head.

She checked his arms and legs to make sure he was not hurt.

The baby was completely safe, though he was shaking with deep fear.

Sarah stood up slowly, her hands trembling violently as she held him.

She looked up at the balcony where Victoria was standing in shock.

Victoria's eyes were wide, and her hands were trembling by her side.

"You crazy woman," Sarah yelled, tears streaming down her cheeks.
