The Silent Danger At Home

The Maid Saved His Son Before It Was Too Late

Elena smoothed the front of her uniform as she walked down the bright hallway of the grand mansion.

She had worked for the Sterling family for over three years.

Arthur Sterling was a busy CEO who trusted Elena completely with his home and his estate.

His young wife Victoria was a woman who always demanded absolute perfection from everyone around her.

Elena loved caring for little Leo, Arthur's ten-month-old baby son from his previous marriage.

She walked toward the main living room while carrying a fresh stack of white towels.

The morning sun poured through the massive crystal windows of the room.

Elena heard a strange hiss coming from inside the room.

She paused near the entrance and listened very closely.

It sounded like the sharp steam of a heavy clothes iron.

Then she heard the faint whimper of little baby Leo.

Elena peeked around the heavy wooden door to see what was happening.

Victoria stood right next to the silk sofa in a dark green dress.

She held a hot iron close to the edge of the sofa near the infant.

The baby was crying softly while staring up at the hot metal.

Victoria raised her voice in a harsh whisper toward the helpless child.

Elena felt her heart freeze inside her chest at that moment.

She dropped the towels onto the floor without making a sound.

Victoria raised the iron higher with a cold look on her face.

Elena knew she only had a single second to act.

She charged into the living room without thinking twice about her job.

Elena shoved Victoria's hand away with all her strength.

The iron clattered loudly onto the wooden floor near the rug.

Elena pulled baby Leo into her arms and pulled him close to her chest.

Victoria stumbled backward and glared at the maid with complete shock.

"How dare you touch me!" Victoria yelled sharply.

"You almost hurt him!" Elena shouted back while holding the baby tight.

Little Leo buried his small face into Elena's shoulder and wept.

Elena stepped back toward the wall to protect the infant.

Victoria's eyes narrowed into dark slits as she stepped forward.

"You are just hired help here, Elena," Victoria said in a icy tone.

"I will make sure Arthur fires you before the sun goes down!" Victoria added.

Elena stood her ground and refused to let go of the child.

She knew the truth would come out very soon.
