Victoria: Arthur, please! Think about our reputation! Think about the board of directors at Vance Enterprises! If this gets out, the company stock will plummet!
Arthur: I don't give a damn about the stock, Victoria. I care about my daughter.
Victoria: We can send her to a private boarding school! I'll never go near her again! We can fix this quietly without the law getting involved!
Arthur: Send my baby away to protect a monster like you? You must be insane.
Arthur tapped another button on his phone screen and put the call on speaker, holding it out between them.
Dispatcher: 911, what is the location of your emergency?
Arthur: My name is Arthur Vance. I am at 1004 Crestview Drive. I need armed police units and an ambulance at my estate immediately.
Victoria: Arthur, no! Hang up!
Victoria: [Screaming] Stop him! Elena, tell them it was an accident!
Dispatcher: Sir, please state the nature of your emergency.
Arthur: My wife, Victoria Vance, just attempted to murder my two-year-old daughter by dropping her off our second-story balcony. I have high-definition video and audio recording of the entire assault.
Dispatcher: Officers are being dispatched to your location right now, sir. Is the child safe?
Arthur: My housemaid caught her in mid-air. She is safe, but we need paramedics to check her for internal injuries right away.
Dispatcher: Stay on the line, sir. Units are two minutes away.
Victoria scrambled to her feet, her eyes darting around the massive foyer like a trapped animal looking for an escape route.
Victoria: I'm leaving! You can't keep me here!
She grabbed her designer purse from the hallway table and sprinted toward the open front entrance, but Arthur stepped smoothly into her path, shutting the heavy iron-reinforced doors and locking them electronically with a click of his key fob.
Arthur: You aren't going anywhere, Victoria.
Victoria: Open these doors! You're false-imprisoning me!
Arthur: I am holding a dangerous felon until the police arrive. Try to move again, and I'll lay you out on this marble floor myself.
Victoria backed away, her breathing coming in ragged, pathetic gasps as she clutched her bruised face. She looked over at Elena, who was standing up now, holding Lily securely in her arms.
Victoria: Elena... please... you know me. I've always paid you well. I'll give you a million dollars right now. Just tell the officers you didn't see me push her!
Elena wiped a tear from her cheek and looked Victoria straight in the eye, her voice firm and unwavering.
Elena: Money can't buy back a child's life, Mrs. Vance. You belong in prison.
Outside, the loud, wailing sounds of police sirens began echoing up the long winding driveway, accompanied by the flashing of red and blue lights through the grand glass windows.
Arthur: That's your ride, Victoria.
Victoria: You ruined my life! I gave up everything to marry you!
Arthur: You ruined your own life the moment you decided a child's life was worth less than an inheritance.
