The entire living room went completely silent as the little girl held up her hand.
A tiny white pill rested right on her wet palm for everyone to see clearly.
Doctor Evans froze completely in place with his hand still stretched out toward Richard.
Marcus quickly took a step forward from the bottom of the grand staircase.
Marcus: That is just a regular vitamin tablet that fell out of the bag, Lily.
Lily: No, it came out of his white pocket when he reached down.
Doctor Evans: Children have very active imaginations during family parties, Richard.
Richard: Wait a second, Evans.
Richard grabbed the tiny white pill gently from his daughter's tiny fingers.
He held it up toward the bright sunshine coming through the tall mansion windows.
The white pill had no markings or company numbers stamped onto its smooth surface.
It looked completely different from the regular blue nerve medicine in the glass bottle.
Richard: Why would you have unmarked pills in your coat pocket, Doctor?
Doctor Evans: That is a private compound meant for another private client later today.
Marcus: Let us not make a dramatic scene in front of all our invited guests, brother.
Marcus reached out his hand to take the tiny white pill away from Richard.
Richard pulled his arm back quickly and held the pill tightly inside his fist.
Richard: My daughter found it in my water bowl.
Richard: I want to know exactly what this is before anyone leaves this room.
Doctor Evans stepped back slowly toward the main front doors of the mansion.
His calm face began to show dark drops of sweat along his gray hairline.
Doctor Evans: If you do not trust my medical treatment, Richard, I can leave right now.
Richard: You will stay right where you are until I call my personal security detail.
Marcus grabbed Doctor Evans by the arm with a forced laugh for the crowd.
Marcus: Calm down, both of you.
Marcus: My brother is just tired from his long illness and stress.
Lily stood up from the floor and held her father's cold hand very tightly.

Richard: What did you say, sweetheart?

The guests in the back began to whisper loudly amongst themselves in clear shock.
Doctor Evans suddenly pulled his leather briefcase tight against his chest and turned around.
He tried to rush toward the grand double doors leading out to the driveway.
