Isabella: Let's go to my private dressing room upstairs.
Mia: Is it on the top floor of the hotel?
Isabella: Yes, the suite overlooking the city park.
The two sisters walked through the quiet hallway toward the private glass elevator. Mr. Harrison walked beside them, carrying his thick leather briefcase.
Mr. Harrison: Mia, I have the key to your father's personal office at the corporate tower.
Mia: Did he leave anything else in the office for us?
Mr. Harrison: He left two sealed letters. One for Isabella, and one for you.
Isabella: Letters from Father?
Mr. Harrison: He wrote them three days before he passed away in the hospital. He wanted you both to open them together on your twenty-eighth birthday.
They stepped into the private elevator, rising rapidly toward the penthouse suite. Mia looked at her reflection in the glass wall, touching the small scratch on her cheek.
Isabella: Does your face still hurt, Mia?
Mia: It's fine, Isabella. A small scratch is nothing compared to what I've been through.
Isabella: I feel terrible about hitting you. I was so arrogant, so absorbed in my own party.
Mia: Evelyn spent twenty-eight years training you to think you were better than everyone else. I don't blame you for reacting.
Isabella: That ends tonight. From now on, we share everything equally.
The elevator doors chimed and slid open into the luxurious penthouse suite. Silk curtains hung over floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a sweeping view of the city skyline.
Isabella walked over to her closet, pulling out an elegant navy blue silk gown, holding it out toward Mia.
Isabella: Here. This will fit you perfectly. We have the exact same measurements.
Mia: It's beautiful, Isabella...
Isabella: It's yours. Everything in this room belongs to both of us now.
Mia took the dress, stepping into the private dressing room to change out of her stained catering uniform. When she stepped back out, dressed in the navy silk gown, Isabella gasped softly.
Isabella: Look at you... You look just like our mother in her old photos.
Mia: Do I?
Isabella: You look like a true Vance. Elegant, strong, and brave.
Mr. Harrison set the two sealed white envelopes onto the glass coffee table in the center of the living room.
Mr. Harrison: Here are your father's letters, ladies. Take your time reading them.
Isabella and Mia sat down side by side on the velvet sofa, each taking her respective envelope. Isabella broke the red wax seal on hers, her eyes scanning her father's neat handwriting.
Isabella: My dearest Isabella... if you are reading this, the truth has finally come to light. I am so sorry I was not strong enough to find your sister sooner...
Mia: My dearest Mia... I spent the last two years of my life searching for you. I know I cannot make up for the years you lost in foster care, but I have secured your future...
Isabella: He wanted us to run the family business together as equals. He knew we would be stronger together than apart.
Mia: He loved us both so much...
Tears welled in both sisters' eyes as they held their father's letters close to their chests.
Isabella: Tomorrow morning at eight AM, we step into the corporate boardroom together.
Mia: Are you ready to face the board of directors with me?
Isabella: With you by my side, Mia, I'm ready for anything.
