Victoria: Marcus! How dare you strike me in your own home?
Marcus: Shut your mouth, Victoria!
Victoria: I am your fiancée! I am going to be the mistress of this estate!
Marcus: You aren't mistress of anything in this house!
Marcus ignored Victoria completely, dropping to his knees beside Maya on the wet marble floor. His grey suit pants soaked up the red wine, but he didn't care. He reached out with trembling hands and gently cradled Maya's damp head, pulling her close against his chest.
Marcus: It's over, Maya. I'm right here. I've got you.
Maya: Father... she took my mother's letters... she tried to destroy my trust papers...
Marcus: Shh, don't speak right now. Just breathe, sweetie.
Maya looked up at her father through tear-filled eyes, her wet hair sticking to her pale cheeks as wine dripped onto her dress.
Maya: She told me you didn't love me anymore... she said you were giving her my mother's ring...
Marcus: She lied to you, Maya. I would never give her your mother's ring.
Victoria: Marcus, you're taking the word of a hysterical teenager over mine!
Marcus: I saw the glass in your hand, Victoria!
Victoria: She tripped! She bumped into my arm while I was drinking!
Maya: That's not true! She held my hair and poured it on me!
Victoria: You little liar! Marcus, she's trying to ruin our wedding because she wants your money!
Marcus stood up slowly, keeping one arm around Maya's shaking shoulders. His eyes were cold as ice as he stared down at Victoria, who was holding her red cheek with trembling fingers.
Marcus: Look at her dress, Victoria. The wine is poured straight down the center of her head. You didn't spill a glass. You dumped it on her.
Victoria: Marcus, please listen to reason! I've given you two years of my life!
Marcus: And in two years, you've turned my home into a nightmare for my daughter!
Victoria: I was trying to discipline her! She disrespects me every time you leave for the corporate office!
Maya: I never disrespected you! I just asked you to give back my father's original will!
Victoria: What will? There is no other will! Your father left everything to me in his prenuptial agreement!
Marcus: What prenuptial agreement, Victoria? I never signed a prenup giving you my estate!
Victoria's eyes darted nervously toward the double doors at the end of the hall. She smoothed down her gold sequined gown, trying to regain her composure.
Victoria: We discussed it last week, Marcus! You agreed that as my future husband, you would secure my financial position!
Marcus: I said we would discuss a marriage agreement after the board meeting next month! I never gave you permission to touch Maya's trust fund!
Victoria: She doesn't need a trust fund! She's nineteen years old! She needs to get a job and move out of this mansion!
Maya: This is my mother's home! My mother built this estate with my father!
Victoria: Your mother has been dead for five years! It's my turn to live in this house!
Marcus: Get out of my sight, Victoria. Go to the guest wing right now.
Victoria: You can't order me around like a servant, Marcus!
Marcus: I said go to the guest wing! Before I have security escort you off my property!
Victoria glared at Maya with pure hatred, turning on her high heels and storming down the marble corridor toward the grand staircase. Marcus pulled a clean white handkerchief from his suit pocket and gently wiped the wine from Maya's forehead.
Marcus: Come on, sweetie. Let me help you get cleaned up. We're going to put an end to this tonight.
