Sarah: GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO ARREST ME IN MY OWN HOME!
Officer Davis: Ma'am, stop resisting! You are being detained pending an investigation into child endangerment and false imprisonment!
The sharp metallic click of handcuffs echoed loudly down the entry hallway as the second officer secured Sarah’s wrists behind her back.
Sarah: MARK! TELL THEM TO LET ME GO! I WILL SUE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!
Mark: You won't sue anyone, Sarah. You're going to prison.
Officer Davis: Sir, is the young lady alright? Does she need an emergency medical team evaluated here?
Mark: She's shaken up and pale, officer. I'd like a paramedic to check her over just to be completely certain she's healthy.
Officer Davis: Paramedics are right behind us, sir. They'll examine her in the living room while we take your statement and review the video footage.
Sarah: THE VIDEO IS FAKE! HE ALTERED IT WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO RUIN MY REPUTATION!
Officer Davis: Save it for the judge, ma'am. Let's walk to the patrol car.
The officers escorted the weeping, screaming woman out the front entrance, her green tank top rumpled, her face covered in smeared makeup and tears as the neighbors gathered along the sidewalk to watch her arrest.
Mark carried Lily into the warm living room, sitting down on the soft sofa and wrapping a warm plush blanket around her small shoulders.
Mark: You are so brave, Lily. I am so, so proud of you.
Lily: Daddy, am I ever going back into the dark room?
Mark: Never again, sweetheart. I promise you on my life, nobody will ever lock a door on you again.
Lily: Can we put Mommy's beach picture back on the fireplace mantel?
Mark: We are putting all of Mommy's pictures back on every single wall in this house tonight.
Lily: I missed you so much while you were at work, Daddy.
Mark: I missed you too, baby. From now on, I'm working from home, and we are going to spend every single day together.
Two paramedics entered the living room with warm smiles, kneeling down in front of Lily with a small medical kit to check her blood pressure and heart rate.
Paramedic Kelly: Hi there, little princess. Mind if we check your heart to make sure you're super strong?
Lily: I'm strong because my Daddy saved me.
Mark: She saved herself, Kelly. She kept her mother's photo safe through the whole nightmare.
