Victoria stared back up at her son, her face pale with terror despite the defiant scream that had just left her throat. Being pinned against her own luxury cabinets by her own flesh and blood was a humiliation she had never imagined. But as she looked into Jax's face, she saw something that made her heart drop straight into her stomach.
Jax's face filled her entire view as he leaned down closer. His eyes were wide with a dark, terrifying rage, his pupils dilated so completely that his eyes looked almost black under the bright kitchen lights. His heavy, furious breathing brushed against her cheek as he stared down at her like a predator about to strike.
Victoria: Jax... please... you're hurting me...
Jax: You don't know what pain is yet. You hit a mother holding a child in my home.
Victoria: She isn't family! She's an illegitimate nuisance! Your father's biggest mistake!
Jax: She is my half-sister! She has Dad's blood in her veins just like I do!
Clara: Jax... please don't hurt her... just call an ambulance for the baby, please!
Jax didn't break eye contact with Victoria, his grip on her collar tightening just enough to keep her immobilized against the wood paneling.
Jax: You knew Dad left her a share of the estate in his final will, didn't you? That's why you tried to drive her out today.
Victoria: That's a lie! Your father left everything to me and you! She has no right to a single cent of the trust fund!
Jax: Then why did I find the original probate documents in Dad's safe this morning? The ones you tried to hire a lawyer to shred?
Victoria's lips trembled, her defiant expression instantly crumbling into pure panic. She tried to squirm out of his hold, but Jax's arm was like a steel bar pressing against her chest.
Victoria: He was sick when he signed those paper! He wasn't in his right mind!
Jax: He was completely sane! He wanted to make sure Clara and her baby were taken care of because he knew how cruel you'd be the moment he died!
Clara: Wait... Jax... what are you talking about? What will?
Jax: Dad left you forty percent of his commercial real estate holdings, Clara. You're a multi-millionaire. And my mother here has been hiding it from you for six months while you worked two jobs to buy baby formula.
Clara gasped, covering her mouth with her free hand as fresh tears overflowed from her eyes. She looked from Jax to Victoria, the pieces of a terrible puzzle finally falling into place. She had lived in poverty for months, begging for small loans just to keep her sick baby girl on specialized infant formula, while her father's multi-million dollar estate was being hoarded inside this very house.
Clara: You... you knew I was struggling to pay for her heart medication? You watched me cry in your driveway last month and told me to sell my car!
Victoria: You don't deserve his money! Your mother was a common secretary!
Jax: And you are a thief, Victoria!
Jax released her collar with a sharp push, letting her slump back against the baseboards. He stood up to his full height, pulling his phone out of his front pocket with cold precision.
Victoria: Who are you calling?! Jax, don't you dare call the police!
Jax: I'm not calling the police yet. First, I'm calling our estate lawyer, and then I'm calling the paramedics for Clara and my niece.
Victoria: If you do this, the media will ruin our family name! The entire Dallas social circle will be talking about this scandal!
Jax: Good. Let them talk. Because by the time I'm done, you won't have a dime left to show off to your social circle anyway.
