Jax: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Victoria: Jax! Stay back! This freeloading liar snuck into the house!
Clara: Jax, help me! Please, she's going to kill us!
Jax turned his head sharply toward his mother, his muscular jaw clenched so tight the tendons in his neck strained against his skin. His face turned pale with fury, his natural freckles standing out sharply against his flushed skin as he gritted his teeth in intense, raw anger. He breathed heavily, a deep rumble of pure rage echoing in his chest as he stared at the wooden stick in Victoria's hands.
Jax: Drop that stick right now, Mother!
Victoria: You don't understand, Jax! She's trying to extort us! She wants your trust fund!
Clara: That's not true! I just needed help with her hospital bills! She's your sister's daughter!
Jax: Put it down!
Victoria: I will not! I am protecting this family from leeching bastards like her!
Victoria raised the stick once more, completely ignoring his warning. Before she could swing it down toward Clara's head, Jax rushed forward like a linebacker. He charged across the polished kitchen tiles, his eyes locked on his mother. With a violent push, he slammed his hands into Victoria's shoulders, shoving her backward with incredible force.
Victoria gasped in shock as her feet lost traction on the slippery floor. She stumbled backward into the heavy wooden kitchen island, her body slamming against the edge before she crashed down onto the hard floor. The wooden stick flew out of her hands, clattering loudly against the cabinet doors before rolling away.
Victoria: Ah! Jax! How dare you lay your hands on me!
Jax: Shut up! Just shut your mouth!
Jax didn't even look at his mother on the floor. He dropped straight to his knees beside Clara, his large hands trembling as he gently touched her trembling shoulder. The baby was still screaming violently, her face turned bright red from lack of oxygen. Clara was sobbing uncontrollably, her tears falling onto her baby's yellow blanket as she rocked back and forth.
Jax: Clara, are you okay? Did she hit the baby? Tell me if she hit the baby!
Clara: No... no, I protected her... but my shoulder... it hurts so bad, Jax.
Jax: Shh, it's okay. I've got you. I'm right here. Nobody is going to touch you again.
Victoria: Get away from her, Jax! She's putting a spell on you! She's just like her mother!
Jax's head snapped around, his eyes burning with a dark, terrifying rage that made even his mother flinch. He stood up slowly, stepping over the pool of water from an overturned cup on the island. His eyes landed on a heavy wooden cutting board sitting on the clean white marble counter. Without thinking, he grabbed the thick block of hardwood with both hands and hurled it down onto the floor with all his strength.
The thick wood shattered upon impact, splintering into heavy chunks that clattered violently across the tile floor, landing inches away from Victoria's expensive designer shoes. Victoria shrieked, covering her head as wood chips flew through the air.
Jax: I said shut your mouth!
Victoria: You've lost your mind! You're choosing this street rat over your own mother?!
Jax: You're not acting like a mother! You're acting like a monster!
Jax took two large strides forward and knelt down right in front of Victoria. Before she could crawl away, he reached out and forcefully grabbed her by the silk collar of her blouse, pinning her shoulders flat against the base of the white kitchen cabinets. The fabric strained in his tight grip as he pulled her forward so her face was only inches from his.
Jax: DON'T YOU EVER LAY A FINGER ON MY FAMILY! THIS IS TEXAS!
Victoria: HOW DARE YOU TOUCH ME?! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?!
Jax: You're going to listen to me very carefully, Victoria, or I swear to God I will dismantle everything you care about.
