Justice Served in Court

Julian: "What do you mean, Detective?"

Detective Roberts: "The recording captured your mother explicitly admitting to forging your grandfather's signature on the amended trust agreement."

Clara: "She admitted that on tape?"

Detective Roberts: "Yes, ma'am. Right around the two-minute mark, she clearly states: 'I changed that will so my son wouldn't give away my empire to a nobody.' That sentence alone constitutes grand forgery and estate fraud."

Julian: "So the clause taking away my inheritance... was completely fake?"

Detective Roberts: "100% illegal. The original will left the entire estate directly to you upon your father's passing. She hid the real document six years ago."

Julian: "Unbelievable... she spent six years lying to me just to keep total financial control."

Detective Roberts: "The District Attorney is upgrading the charges to grand theft, forgery, and aggravated domestic battery. She won't be getting out on bail easily."

Six months later, the sun shone brightly over the Dallas County Courthouse.

Julian stood on the stone steps wearing a sharp grey suit, holding Clara's hand tightly. In her other arm, Clara cradled their newborn baby girl, wrapped in a soft pink blanket.

Clara: "Are you ready to go inside?"

Julian: "I've been ready for six months."

Inside the courtroom, Victoria Vance sat at the defense table in a navy jumpsuit, her white hair styled neatly, though her posture lacked its former arrogance.

Her defense lawyer leaned over, whispering frantically, but Victoria stared straight ahead as Julian and Clara walked down the center aisle.

Judge: "Court is now in session. In the matter of the State of Texas versus Victoria Vance, how does the defendant plead to the charges of felony forgery and aggravated assault?"

Defense Attorney: "Your Honor, my client wishes to change her plea to guilty under a negotiated plea agreement."

Judge: "Mrs. Vance, do you understand that by pleading guilty, you waive your right to a jury trial and face mandatory sentencing?"

Victoria: "Yes, Your Honor..."

Judge: "Do you admit to physically assaulting Clara Vance and intentionally forging legal estate documents?"

Victoria looked back toward the gallery, her eyes landing on Julian and the baby held in Clara's arms.

Victoria: "I... I admit it."

Judge: "Very well. For the charges of felony assault and high-value estate forgery, I sentence you to seven years in the Texas State Penitentiary, with no eligibility for parole for the first four years."

The gavel slammed down with a resounding crack.

Victoria closed her eyes as bailiffs stepped forward to escort her out through the side doors.

Victoria: "Julian... please... let me see my granddaughter..."

Julian looked at his mother with calm, steady eyes, showing neither anger nor hatred—only complete detachment.

Julian: "You chose your path, Victoria. Now you have to walk it."
