The Spin Kick At The Altar

The quiet room filled with whispering gasps as blood pooled beneath Clara’s dark hair on the polished marble floor. Little Lily threw her small arms around her injured mother, wiping tears from her cheeks as she reached up toward the groom in his tailored black tuxedo.

Lily: Don't hurt mommy! I knew you'd protect us!

Marcus: Lily? What did you just say?!

Evelyn: Marcus, ignore that brat! She is a street orphan who snuck into our catering tent!

Marcus: Evelyn, put that wooden stick down right now!

Evelyn: I am saving our wedding day, Marcus! I won't let a common waitress ruin my moment!

Evelyn raised the heavy wooden stick a second time, aiming directly at Clara’s shoulder as the bleeding woman tried to shield her daughter on the stone floor.

Evelyn: I told you to get out of my sight!

Furious at her cruel violence, Marcus didn't hesitate for a single second. He charged forward across the marble tile, executing a swift 360-degree roundhouse spin and delivering a powerful kick straight into Evelyn's chest.

A loud whoosh sound filled the air, followed by a heavy kick impact thud. Evelyn let out a sharp, terrified scream as the force of the kick knocked her flying backward through the air. She crashed hard onto the light marble floor, her white lace veil tearing against the stone as she tumbled three feet past the floral arch.

Evelyn: Ugh! My chest!

Arthur: Evelyn! My daughter!

Evelyn’s billionaire father, Arthur Vance, stood up from the front row in sheer outrage, pointing a trembling finger at the groom.

Arthur: Marcus Sterling! Have you lost your mind?! You just kicked your bride in front of the entire city council!

Marcus: Your daughter just hit a defenseless woman on the head with a heavy wooden stick, Arthur!

Evelyn: How could you do this to me?!

Evelyn lay sprawled on the marble floor, holding her bruised chest in utter shock while groaning in pain. Marcus ignored her completely, rushing past her sprawled form to reach his true family on the floor.

Marcus: Clara! Clara, look at me! Can you hear my voice?

Clara: Marcus... my head hurts so bad...

Marcus: Hold still, baby. I'm going to press my handkerchief against the cut.

Marcus dropped to his knees on the light marble, pulling his silk handkerchief from his tuxedo pocket and pressing it gently against Clara’s bleeding forehead. Lily threw her small arms around Marcus’s neck, burying her face against his lapel while weeping hysterically.

Lily: Daddy! You came back for us!

Marcus: Daddy...? Lily, why are you calling me Daddy?

Clara raised a trembling, blood-stained hand, placing her palm against Marcus’s cheek as tears filled her pale eyes.

Clara: She's your daughter...

Marcus: What... what did you just say, Clara?

Clara: She is your biological daughter, Marcus. The child you were told died four years ago in the hospital.

Marcus froze, his breathing catching in his chest as he looked down at the little girl holding his neck under the shadow of the American flag.

Marcus: My daughter... my baby girl is alive?

Clara: She was never dead, Marcus. Evelyn and her father hid her from you.
