Victoria: Investigators? David, why were you investigating estate accounts behind my back?!
David: Because three weeks ago, I found a secondary birth certificate tucked inside my late brother's study desk.
Clara: Mr. Sterling... did you find the original hospital records from St. Jude's?
David: I found everything, Clara. I know who Lily's real biological mother is.
Victoria thrashed her arms in desperation, pushing herself off the floor to stand on her high heels, her voice rising into a sharp, panicked scream that echoed through the foyer.
Victoria: That child belongs to me! I adopted her legally after your brother passed away!
David: You didn't adopt her legally, Victoria. You forged Clara's signature on a parental waiver form four years ago while she was recovering from childbirth in a county clinic!
Clara: I never signed those waiver papers! I told the clinic director that Victoria paid off the head nurse to take my baby away!
David: And my brother spent four years looking for Clara while you kept her locked out of this estate using forged court orders!
Victoria backed away toward the grand staircase archway, her hands trembling as she looked at the high-society guests who had gathered near the double doors, whispering in utter shock.
Guest A: Did David just say she stole a baby from a waitress?
Guest B: Look at her! She forged adoption papers to get the Sterling trust fund shares!
Victoria: It's a lie! They are conspiring together to steal my place in this family!
David: The DNA results came back from the state forensic laboratory yesterday morning, Victoria. Lily is a ninety-nine point nine percent match to Clara Vance.
Lily looked up from David's suit jacket, her small brown eyes wide with tearful wonder as she looked over at Clara in her black-and-white waitress uniform.
Lily: Clara... are you... are you my real mommy?
Clara: Yes, my sweet baby girl... I am your mommy. I never stopped searching for you for four long years.
Clara dropped to her knees on the marble floor, tears streaming freely down her cheeks as she held out her arms. Lily wiggled out of David's grip, running as fast as her small legs could carry her to throw her arms around Clara's neck.
Lily: Mommy! I knew you'd come back for me!
Clara: I will never leave you again, sweetie. I promise on my life.
Victoria's eyes darted frantically toward the main entrance, but two tall estate security guards stepped into the archway, blocking her path with cold, stern expressions.
Victoria: Get out of my way! I am the mistress of this mansion!
David: You are not the mistress of anything, Victoria. You are a criminal who is about to answer to the law.
