The Unspoken Past

My Wife Raised A Stick To Our Maid Before Truth Revealed

Nathan stood up slowly, his legs feeling heavy and weak as he kept his eyes fixed entirely on the small child sitting on the floor.

Victoria stepped forward aggressively, shoving her way between Nathan and the maid, her face red with disbelief and growing anxiety.

Victoria: She is making up stories so you won't call the police on her!

Nathan: Be quiet, Victoria! Just be quiet for one second!

Victoria: You are actually believing a woman who cleans our toilets?

Nathan: Look at the child's eyes, Victoria! Just look at her!

Victoria glanced down at little Lily for a brief moment, and for the first time, a look of genuine panic flickered across her calculated expression.

Nathan turned back to Hannah, his voice trembling as he tried to put together the broken pieces of a past he thought was long gone.

Five years ago, before Nathan ever met Victoria or started his massive company, he was working as a junior manager at a small construction firm.

During a stormy summer in a small coastal town, he had met a kind, sweet college student named Hannah who worked at a local diner.

They had dated for six beautiful months, sharing quiet evenings and dreaming about building a simple, happy life together in the future.

Then, suddenly, Hannah had vanished without leaving a note, leaving her apartment empty and changing her phone number overnight.

Nathan had searched for her for months, heartbroken and confused, before finally moving away to the big city to rebuild his life.

Nathan: Hannah... why did you run away from me five years ago?

Hannah: I didn't want to leave you, Nathan... I was forced to leave!

Nathan: What do you mean you were forced?

Hannah: Your wealthy father came to my apartment with his lawyer!

Hannah stood up slowly, holding Lily firmly against her hip as she wiped the tears from her red cheeks with her free hand.

She explained how Nathan's strict, wealthy father had discovered their relationship and decided Hannah was not grand enough for his son's future high-society career.

The older man had threatened to ruin Hannah's family business and ensure she could never finish her college education if she did not disappear immediately.

Hannah: He told me I would destroy your chances of making it in the business world.

Hannah: Two weeks after I left town, I found out I was pregnant with Lily.

Nathan: Why didn't you try to contact me when she was born?

Hannah: I called your old office, but they said you were engaged to Victoria.

Hannah: I saw photos of your grand wedding in the newspaper, and I thought you moved on.

Nathan placed his hands over his face, feeling a deep, burning ache in his chest as he realized the huge loss he had suffered without knowing.

He had spent years believing Hannah had simply abandoned him, while in reality she had been protecting him and raising his child alone in poverty.

Victoria grabbed Nathan's arm tightly, her long fingernails digging into his dark suit jacket through the fabric.

Victoria: This entire story is a pathetic lie to get your money!

Victoria: We are going to fire her right now and throw her out!

Nathan: Touch her or my daughter again, and you will regret it forever.

Victoria: Your daughter? You don't even have proof that she is yours!

Nathan: We are going to get a DNA test done today to prove everything officially.

Nathan stepped past Victoria and reached out his arms to little Lily, his heart pounding with a mixture of immense joy and deep sorrow.

The little girl looked at her mother for approval, and when Hannah nodded through her tears, Lily reached out her small arms to Nathan.

Nathan held his daughter close against his chest for the very first time, feeling her soft head rest against his shoulder as he made a silent vow to protect her forever.
