Exposed Under the Altar

My Bride Secretly Evicted My Young Daughter Before Our Wedding

Mark reached down and carefully took the crumpled note from Lily's hands. He smoothed it out against his thigh as best he could before holding it high up in the air for the whole room to see. Vanessa's eyes went wide with sudden panic, her hand dropping her white orchid bouquet onto the floor.

Mark: My daughter was waiting for me to remain her father. This wedding is not happening!

Vanessa: Mark, you're misunderstanding! That was just a preliminary application for her own good!

Mark: You handed a seven-year-old child a letter telling her she was being thrown out of her home tomorrow morning!

A loud wave of murmurs erupted across the ballroom as guests leaned in to hear the terrible truth. Vanessa stepped forward, trying to grab Mark's arm to pull him aside, but Mark pushed her hand away with total disgust, stepping back to protect Lily.

Vanessa: I did it for us! She needs real discipline, Mark! You spoil her because her mother died, and she was going to ruin our life together!

Mark: She didn't ruin anything. You showed me your true self before I made the biggest mistake of my life.

Mark pulled his cell phone from his inner white suit pocket and tapped the screen loudly, turning on the speakerphone for the whole room to hear. He held it up to the nearby altar microphone so his voice carried across the entire venue clearly.

Mark: I just checked my bank accounts three minutes ago. You didn't just book a school, Vanessa. You signed a contract with an agency to transfer her guardianship papers while I was busy planning this event!

Vanessa: It was a mistake! I was going to explain it on the honeymoon!

Mark: You forged my dead wife's signature on the secondary forms. Do you realize that is a major federal crime?

The front row erupted into total chaos. Vanessa's father stood up, looking shocked and disgraced, while Mark's family members began shouting in anger at the stage. Vanessa looked around desperately, but every face in the crowd was filled with disgust and horror at what she had tried to do to a grieving orphan child.

Vanessa: Mark, please! Think about my reputation! Think about the money we spent on this venue!

Mark: You ruined your own reputation the moment you decided to hurt my daughter.
