Justice Returns Home

His Missing Wife Came Back As The Maid Until His Son Called Her Mommy

Within twenty minutes, the quiet front driveway of the Sterling estate was filled with the flashing red and blue lights of three local police cruisers. The sound of firm footsteps echoed across the front porch as heavy police officers entered the main grand foyer.

Julianna was caught trying to hurry down the back service stairs with two leather designer suitcases stuffed with cash and expensive jewelry. Two officers caught her near the side door, placing metal handcuffs around her wrists despite her loud screams and desperate protests.

Julianna: Get your hands off me! Do you know who my father is?! He will have all of your badges by tomorrow morning!

Police Officer: You have the right to remain silent, ma'am. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

Harrison stood near the main staircase holding the thick folder of evidence from the library safe. He watched in silence as the officers led Julianna out through the heavy double front doors, her high heels dragging against the stone steps outside.

The loud commotion slowly faded into the quiet distance, replaced by the peaceful hum of the afternoon wind moving through the large oak trees outside the windows.

Clara stood beside Harrison, wearing a soft wool sweater she had retrieved from her old closet upstairs. The grey maid uniform was thrown into a laundry basket near the kitchen, gone from her life forever.

Harrison: The police chief told me the state prosecutor is filing full charges for attempted murder, kidnapping, and corporate fraud. She will never step foot near this property or our family again.

Clara: It feels like a long nightmare is finally ending, Harrison.

Harrison: I am so sorry, Clara. I am so sorry I did not search harder, that I did not see through her lies sooner.

Clara: You do not have to apologize for anything. You were protecting our boy the best way you knew how. We are together now, and that is all that matters.

Noah ran out from the living room holding a small plastic toy car, his face bright with a big, joyful smile that had been missing for years. He skidded to a stop on the hardwood floor, looking up at his parents with shining eyes.

Noah: Mommy, look! I found the blue car you helped me search for under the couch last night!

Clara dropped down to her knees, taking the toy from his tiny hand and pulling him into a tight, warm hug.

Clara: You found it! You are such a good helper, Noah!

Noah: Daddy, can Mommy make us lunch today? The mean lady never let us eat in the big kitchen!

Harrison: Mommy can do whatever she wants in this house, buddy. This is her home.

Harrison knelt down beside them on the warm wooden floor, wrapping his arms around both his wife and his son. The afternoon sunlight streamed brightly through the high bay windows, washing over the family and filling the grand hall with a peaceful warmth that had been missing for three dark years.
