Victoria: Police?! You actually called the police on your own wife?!
David: I pressed the emergency panic button on the security panel the moment I saw Sarah crying on the floor. They are already at the estate gates.
Victoria: You have no proof! It's your word against mine! A judge will never convict me based on the word of a house maid!
David: She isn't the only witness, Victoria. Look up at the wall behind the United States flag.
Victoria blinked, her eyes darting across the bright white wall where the large American flag hung framed in gold. Just above the top corner of the frame, a tiny black camera lens glittered under the sunlight.
Victoria: What... what is that?
David: That is a 4K motion-activated security camera connected directly to my firm's private servers. It records high-definition video and full crystal-clear audio twenty-four hours a day.
Victoria: You... you installed cameras in the foyer?!
David: I installed them two weeks ago when Sarah told me you were making subtle threats toward Chloe when I wasn't home.
Victoria: Sarah... you little rat! You set me up!
Sarah: I didn't set you up, Mrs. Victoria! I warned you multiple times to leave the baby alone! You told me she was a mistake that shouldn't exist!
David: The camera caught every single second, Victoria. It recorded you holding Chloe by her blanket, it recorded you saying goodbye, and it recorded you throwing her into the air.
Victoria's legs gave out, and she sank onto the hard marble floor, her golden dress pooling around her like spilled liquid. The arrogant smirk she had worn for months vanished completely, replaced by pure, desperate terror.
Victoria: David... please... I was jealous! I was terrified you loved Chloe's late mother more than you loved me! I wasn't thinking straight!
David: Jealousy doesn't justify trying to murder a six-month-old child! You are a monster, Victoria!
The loud, wailing sound of police sirens echoed from the long driveway outside the mansion. Red and blue lights flashed through the tall glass windows, casting bright reflections across the United States flag on the wall.
David: They're here.
Victoria: David, don't let them take me! Please! Tell them it was a mistake! I'll leave Texas! I'll never come back!
David: You're right about one thing. You'll never come back. But you won't be leaving Texas. You'll be staying in a state prison cell for the next twenty years.
