The Truth Behind The Marriage

Her Stepmother Tossed Her Baby Until The Maid Stepped In

Victoria: David, please! You're letting a maid destroy our marriage! Think about what people in Dallas will say!

David: I don't care about Dallas society! I care about my child's life!

David grabbed Victoria by her forearm, forcing her up from the wall and dragging her toward the grand staircase. She struggled against his grip, her high heels scraping against the polished wood of the hallway.

Victoria: Let go of me! You're hurting my arms!

David: You dangled an infant over a marble floor! You don't get to complain about pain!

Down in the foyer, Sarah had managed to stand up, carefully cradling little Chloe against her shoulder. The baby's frantic cries had slowed down to soft, trembling hiccups, her tiny fingers clutching Sarah's black uniform collar.

Sarah: Shh, baby girl. Your daddy is here now. Nobody is going to hurt you ever again.

David: Sarah, are you alright? Are your knees broken?

Sarah: I'm fine, Mr. Sterling. My knees are bruised, but Chloe didn't touch the ground. I caught her completely.

David: You saved my daughter's life today, Sarah. I will never forget what you did.

David dragged Victoria down the last few steps of the grand marble stairs, shoving her toward the massive front doors. Victoria stumbled, her golden dress bunching around her ankles as she tried to maintain her balance.

Victoria: You can't throw me out with nothing! Half of this mansion belongs to me under Texas state law!

David: Have you forgotten the prenuptial agreement we signed three months ago, Victoria?

Victoria went deathly quiet, her pale face turning even whiter as she looked up into David's ice-cold eyes.

Victoria: The... the prenup?

David: Clause Fourteen. Any spouse who engages in domestic violence, child endangerment, or illegal acts forfeits every single penny of the marital estate, the trust fund, and the housing rights.

Victoria: That... that clause isn't legal! My lawyers will challenge it in court!

David: My legal team drafted that contract, Victoria. They are the best corporate attorneys in the state of Texas. You walk out of those doors with the dress on your back and nothing else.

Victoria: David, no! I have nowhere to go! My father cut me off last month!

David: That sounds like your problem, not mine. Now step out of my house before the police arrive to escort you away in handcuffs.
