Chloe: You traitor! You set me up!
Marcus: You set yourself up the moment you let your greed consume you.
Elena: Marcus, my father's safe in the study... did she break into that too?
Marcus: We'll check the study together in a moment, Elena. First, we clear this house of people who don't belong here.
The heavy front doors swung open again. Two uniformed police officers stepped into the foyer, their heavy boots clicking against the marble floor.
Police Officer: Mr. Vance? We received a call regarding an assault and property dispute.
Marcus: Over here, Officers. Thank you for arriving so quickly.
Chloe: Officer! Thank goodness you're here! This man is trying to kick me out of my own home!
Police Officer: Ma'am, please keep your voice down. Who is the property owner here?
Marcus: The estate belongs to the late Arthur Vance's trust. I am the executor of the estate, and this is Arthur's daughter, Elena Vance.
Police Officer: And who is this lady in the gold dress?
Marcus: This is Chloe Sterling. She physically assaulted Elena moments ago inside this hallway.
Chloe: It was an accident! I tripped and the wine spilled!
Marcus: Officer, I have clear, uninterrupted video footage with audio recorded from that security camera right above us.
Police Officer: Let me see the footage, sir.
Marcus pulled out his smartphone, tapped the screen twice, and turned it toward the police officer. The video played clearly. Chloe's loud, harsh voice echoed through the hallway speakers from the phone: "Look at you, trembling on the floor like a servant!" followed by the sight of her intentionally pouring the bottle over Elena's head.
Police Officer: That looks pretty clear to me, ma'am. Put your hands behind your back.
Chloe: What?! You can't handcuff me! Do you know how much this dress costs?!
Police Officer: Hands behind your back right now, ma'am, or I will charge you with resisting arrest.
The officer grabbed Chloe's wrists, pulling them firmly behind her back. The cold steel handcuffs clicked tightly into place over her sequined sleeves.
Chloe: Marcus! Call our divorce lawyer! Call my mother!
Marcus: Your mother is already being questioned by the fraud department at her apartment, Chloe.
Chloe: What?! What did you do to my mother?!
Marcus: She attempted to transfer two million dollars from the estate bank account to an offshore account an hour ago. The bank flagged the transaction and notified federal investigators.
Chloe: You destroyed my family!
Elena: You destroyed yourselves, Chloe. You thought money gave you the right to treat people like trash.
Police Officer: Watch your head, ma'am. You're coming with us to the station.
Chloe screamed and kicked her feet as the officers escorted her out the front entrance. Her golden sequin gown dragged against the wine-stained floor, leaving dark streaks across the white marble as the doors slammed shut behind her.
Elena: Is it really over, Marcus?
Marcus: It's just beginning, Elena. Now we get you cleaned up, and then we take back what's yours.
