Arrested Under The Flags

Her Nanny Caught The Rich Wife Dragging The Crying Baby Across Marble

The front double doors were pushed open wide as three uniformed Dallas police officers hurried into the grand marble foyer, their leather belts jingling with equipment. Red and blue lights flashed wildly against the tall windows, casting dramatic shadows across the white columns.

Officer Harrison: "Dallas Police! Hands where we can see them!"

Marcus: "Officer, over here! I'm Marcus Vance, I made the call!"

Marcus released Evelyn's wrists and stepped back, pointing directly at her as she stood breathing heavily against the column.

Officer Harrison: "Ma'am, step away from the column and put your hands behind your back."

Evelyn: "Officers, this is a massive misunderstanding! My husband is framing me because I threatened to file for divorce!"

Martha: "She's lying, Officers! Look at my eye! Look at the baby's arm!"

Officer Harrison walked over to Martha, carefully inspecting the swelling around her eye and the dark red finger marks on baby Leo's delicate skin. He turned toward his partner with a grim expression.

Officer Harrison: "Call an ambulance for a precautionary checkup on the infant and medical evaluation for the staff member."

Officer Davis: "Copy that, setting up medical dispatch."

Officer Harrison: "Ma'am, turn around immediately."

Evelyn: "Do you know who my family is?! My father is a major shareholder in Vance Financial! You can't put handcuffs on me!"

Officer Harrison grabbed Evelyn's arm firmly, twisting it behind her back and clicking the steel handcuffs securely around her wrists right in front of the vertical American flags.

Officer Harrison: "Evelyn Vance, you are under arrest for felony injury to a child, domestic assault, and witness intimidation. You have the right to remain silent."

Evelyn: "Marcus! Tell them to stop! You are destroying our family name!"

Marcus: "You destroyed it the moment you laid your hands on my family. Get her out of my sight."

Evelyn kicked and screamed as the two officers dragged her across the slick white marble floor, her elegant blue gown sweeping against the stone as she was forced out through the double doors into the flashing police lights.

Marcus turned back to Martha, who was sitting on a plush foyer bench, holding little Leo snugly in a soft cotton blanket.

Marcus: "Martha... I don't know how I can ever repay you for protecting my son today."

Martha: "You don't owe me anything, Mr. Vance. I loved your late wife, and I love this little boy. I would have taken a hundred blows to keep him safe."

Marcus: "You are never going to have to worry about your job or your safety ever again. You are family now."

The paramedics arrived shortly after, carefully examining little Leo. Fortunately, aside from minor skin bruising, the baby was uninjured, though deeply shaken. Marcus sat beside Martha, holding his son's tiny hand as the child finally fell into a peaceful sleep.
