The bright Texas sun streamed through the high windows of the Dallas mansion, illuminating the cold white marble floor and pristine white columns. High on the pristine wall, two framed American flag artworks hung in silent witness. In the center of the grand foyer, Evelyn stood in a sweeping navy blue gown, her eyes dark with cold resentment as she gripped eight-month-old Leo by his tiny arm, dragging him callously across the slick stone. The infant screamed in sheer terror, his chubby legs kicking uselessly as his small hands scraped against the hard marble. Evelyn’s face remained frozen in a scowl, completely unbothered by his desperate cries.
Evelyn: "Shut up! Stop crying this instant!"
From around the corner near the kitchen, Martha, the older maid, stepped into the foyer carrying a fresh stack of linens. A dark, painful bruise was visible around her right eye. When her eyes landed on Evelyn dragging the helpless child across the room, Martha froze in utter horror. Her jaw dropped, and her hand instantly flew to cover her gasp.
Martha: "Oh, dear God! No!"
Dropping the linens onto the floor, Martha sprinted across the foyer as fast as her aging legs could carry her. She launched herself between Evelyn and the floor, scooping little Leo up into her arms and holding his trembling body tightly against her chest. Evelyn straightened her blue dress, looking down at the maid with complete disdain.
Evelyn: "Get out of my way, Martha. Hand that child back to me."
Martha: "I will not let you hurt him anymore, ma'am! He is just an infant!"
Evelyn: "He is my stepson, and I will raise him however I see fit. You are just a hired maid."
Before Evelyn could snatch the baby back, the heavy double front doors burst open with a violent thud, echoing beneath the high ceilings. Marcus Vance, clad in a sharp blue suit, stormed into the mansion with raw fury burning in his eyes, two private security guards lingering right at the entrance. Marcus dropped to his knees beside the terrified maid, gently taking his sobbing son into his arms. Martha looked up into her employer's face, her voice trembling with frantic desperation as she delivered the horrifying truth.
Martha: "She hurts the child every time you leave!"
Marcus: "HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY CHILD!"
Marcus stood up abruptly, holding his crying son close to his chest while his eyes bulged with absolute wrath. Evelyn took a step back, her pale face turning ghostly white as she realized her dark secret was finally exposed.
