The Arrival Of The Law

Her Mother In Law Dropped The Baby Until DNA Proved The Secret

Within fifteen minutes, the quiet morning air outside the mansion was shattered by the sharp wail of police sirens. Red and blue lights flashed through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, reflecting off the crystal chandelier and casting long streaks of color across the white marble foyer.

The heavy front double doors swung open, and three uniformed Dallas police officers entered the home, their heavy boots clicking against the polished floor.

Officer Harris: "Dallas Police! We received an emergency report of child endangerment and fraud at this address!"

Julian: "Up here on the second-story balcony, Officer!"

The officers moved quickly up the grand staircase, their hands resting on their belts as they reached the balcony landing near the framed American flag.

Officer Harris: "Mr. Vance, what happened here?"

Julian: "My mother, Beatrice Vance, intentionally dropped my six-month-old child over this balcony railing. I caught him on the lower floor."

Beatrice: "Officer, that is a complete lie! The blanket slipped out of my hand! It was a terrible accident!"

Victoria: "Accident?! You shouted 'Stop, you're gonna drop him' before you pushed him over the edge!"

Officer Harris: "Ma'am, we have the security footage requested from your home automation system. Our dispatch center already reviewed the live cloud backup."

Beatrice froze, her skin turning completely white as she looked up at the small black dome camera mounted near the upper corner of the wall.

Officer Harris: "The video clearly shows you holding the child over the railing and releasing him intentionally. Beatrice Vance, you are under arrest for attempted felony injury to a child."

Beatrice: "Do you know who I am?! I am the chairman of Vance Financial!"

Officer Harris: "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

The second officer stepped forward, pulling Beatrice's arms behind her dark blazer and clicking metal handcuffs tightly around her wrists.

Beatrice: "Julian! Tell them to stop! You can't let them take me out of my own home in handcuffs!"

Julian: "It's not your home, Beatrice. It never was."

Victoria: "Officer, I also have official forensic documents showing thirty years of estate fraud, identity theft, and trust fund embezzlement."

Officer Harris: "Hand those documents to my partner, ma'am. The financial crimes division will process them immediately."

Beatrice screamed and protested as the officers escorted her down the grand staircase, her expensive heels dragging against the marble steps she had walked down with pride for three decades. Julian and Victoria stood side-by-side on the balcony, watching her get led through the front doors into the back of a waiting police cruiser.
