Arthur Vance: "Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for the disruption to your morning. The wedding ceremony is officially canceled. However, the reception at the Dallas Country Club remains open, and all food, drinks, and entertainment have been fully paid for."
A few quiet murmurs passed through the crowd before guests slowly began standing up, offering respectful nods to Arthur and Chloe as they filed out of the garden.
Chloe's Mother: "Chloe, sweetheart... let me take you inside so we can get you out of that lace dress."
Chloe: "Thanks, Mom. But I want to stand here for a moment."
Arthur Vance: "I'll give you girls some privacy. Mr. Sterling and I will handle the press release."
Arthur kissed Chloe on the forehead before walking toward the estate doors with his legal team. Chloe stood alone near the floral arch, surrounded by scattered white roses and spilled financial documents.
Her mother placed a soft shawl around her shoulders, rubbing her arms gently.
Mrs. Vance: "You were so strong today, Chloe. I don't know if I could have handled seeing your father slap him like that."
Chloe: "Marcus deserved worse, Mom. He didn't just try to take my money. He tried to make me feel insane for asking questions about our accounts."
Mrs. Vance: "Gaslighting is the favorite weapon of a weak man, my dear. You have your father's spirit."
Chloe: "I just keep thinking about the baby, Mom. How am I going to raise a child alone?"
Mrs. Vance: "You are never alone, Chloe. You have a family that loves you, resources to give this child everything, and the wisdom to protect them."
Chloe placed both hands over her pregnant stomach, feeling a strong, reassuring kick from inside.
Chloe: "You're right. My baby is going to have the best life possible, completely free from Marcus's lies."
A young caterer walked up to the altar cautiously, carrying a tray with a warm mug of herbal tea.
Caterer: "Miss Vance? Your father asked me to bring you some warm chamomile tea."
Chloe: "Thank you so much."
Chloe took the mug, taking a small sip as she looked out over the empty garden. The morning sun was high in the Texas sky now, burning away the lingering chill of the early morning.
Chloe: "Mom, can you ask Harrison to bring my suitcase down from the bridal suite?"
Mrs. Vance: "Where are we going?"
Chloe: "We're going to our ranch in Aspen. I need fresh air, mountains, and zero drama for the next few months."
Mrs. Vance: "I'll pack my bags right now."
