Julian: Vanessa... what is the meaning of this video?
Vanessa: Julian, darling, you can't possibly believe this fake recording! She probably edited that on her phone in the kitchen!
Clara: I recorded it live from behind the barrel row! I saw you open a small paper packet and dump it into Mr. Sterling's glass!
Vanessa: Shut your mouth, you lying little servant! You're trying to ruin my reputation in front of Dallas high society!
Julian: Quiet, Vanessa! Clara, let me see that phone right now.
Julian took the phone from Clara's trembling hands, zooming in on the video display. The high-definition camera left no room for doubt. The emerald ring on the hand pouring the powder matched the massive ring resting on Vanessa's left finger.
Julian: That is your ring, Vanessa. That is the custom emerald I bought you in Europe last summer.
Vanessa: Julian, listen to me! Someone must have stolen my ring or replicated it! Why would I ever harm my own fiancé?
Clara: Because you knew he was updating his estate will tomorrow morning!
Vanessa turned toward Clara, her eyes wide with rage as she took an aggressive step forward.
Vanessa: You insolent little girl! You know nothing about our family affairs!
Julian: Don't you dare step toward her again, Vanessa! Answer me! What was in that powder?!
Vanessa: It was nothing! It was just a harmless health supplement! A vitamin!
Clara: Vitamins don't come in marked glass vials hidden inside a designer handbag, Miss Vanessa. I saw you pull it from your purse.
Julian looked down at the spilled white wine soaking into the dark wooden table. A faint white foam was beginning to bubble at the edges of the pool of liquid.
Julian: A vitamin doesn't react with alcohol like that. My God... you were trying to poison me in my own house!
Vanessa: Julian, please! I love you! We are supposed to get married at the country club next month!
Julian: You don't love me! You love the Sterling trust fund! You wanted me dead before I signed the new estate papers that excluded you!
Vanessa: That's not true! I've stood by you for three years!
Julian: You stood by my bank account! Security! Get in here right now!
Two tall security guards in black suits pushed through the crowd of shocked guests in tuxedos, stepping firmly onto the marble floor of the wine cellar.
Security Officer: Yes, Mr. Sterling? What happened?
Julian: Restrain this woman immediately. Do not let her leave this cellar under any circumstances.
Vanessa: Get your filthy hands off me! Do you know who my father is?! He's the biggest real estate mogul in Texas!
Security Officer: Ma'am, keep your hands where we can see them. Do not resist.
Vanessa: Julian! Tell them to let me go! You can't do this to me! I am your bride!
Julian: You're a criminal, Vanessa. And you just made the biggest mistake of your life.
Julian turned away from her screaming, dropping to his knees beside Clara, who was still leaning against the table, clutching her swollen, red cheek.
Julian: Clara... look at me. Are you alright? I need to get you some ice immediately.
Clara: I'm okay, Mr. Sterling. My cheek hurts... but I'm just glad you didn't drink the wine.
Julian: You saved my life tonight, Clara. And I let this woman put her hands on you. I am so deeply sorry.
Clara: You didn't know, sir. Nobody expected her to do something so terrible.
Julian: That doesn't excuse it. I promise you, justice will be served tonight. Every single person in this room will know the truth.
