The Trash Can In White

He Cut His Wedding Cake And Found What She Hidden Inside

The entire grand ballroom fell completely silent as Lily pointed her tiny hand toward the decorative hallway that led directly to the private bridal suite. Clara’s eyes filled with pure terror, and she made a sudden, frantic dash toward the side exit doors, but David moved instantly, stepping right in front of her path with an angry look on his face.

David: You aren't going anywhere, Clara. Security, take her makeup bag out of the suite right now!

Clara: Get your hands off me! You have no right to search my personal belongings!

David: This is my house, and you just tried to put me in a coma on my own wedding day!

Within seconds, a security guard returned from the bridal suite holding a small, silver-rimmed trash can and Clara's expensive designer makeup bag. He set both items down directly onto the dark hardwood floor right beneath the American flag painting. David reached down, using a paper towel to tip the trash bin over, spilling its contents out into the clear daylight.

Among the discarded tissues and empty makeup bottles sat a crushed white cardboard box with a bold red warning label printed clearly on the side. David picked up the small box and read the printed text out loud for everyone to hear.

David: Clinical Grade Potassium Chloride... prescribed by Dr. Robert Evans... delivered to Clara Montgomery yesterday afternoon at four o'clock!

Guest 3: Unbelievable! She had it delivered right to her apartment!

David: Dr. Evans is your cousin, isn't he, Clara?! He works at the private clinic downtown!

Clara: He... he gave it to me for my anxiety! I didn't mean to hurt anyone!

David: Anxiety?! You don't inject potassium chloride into a wedding cake for anxiety! You use it to stop a human heart!

Clara's Mother: Clara, tell him it's a lie! Tell him you didn't do this!

Clara: Shut up, Mom! Just shut up! He was never going to give me control of the family business anyway!

David stepped back, looking at the woman he was about to marry with total disgust and disbelief. The beautiful dress, the perfect veil, and the sweet smile were all just a mask for a greedy, cold heart that cared about nothing but money.

David: You never loved me for a single second, did you? It was all about the inheritance, the mansion, and the legal settlement.

Clara: You were boring, David! All you ever talked about was hard work and charity! You sitting on eighty million dollars while I had to ask for an allowance was ridiculous!

David: You were going to murder me on our wedding day just for money...

Clara: I deserved that money more than you ever did!

Outside the tall windows, red and blue lights began flashing brightly across the green lawn as three police cruisers pulled rapidly up the long driveway, their sirens blaring loudly into the summer afternoon.
