Julian: Brenda, why are you in my house on a Tuesday morning?
Brenda: I came here to talk to your mother about the estate trust! And then this girl attacked me!
Sarah: That's a complete lie, Mr. Vance! She pulled her fist back and was about to hit your mother while she was sitting in her wheelchair!
Brenda: Shut your mouth, servant! Julian, are you really going to take the word of a housemaid over your own stepsister?!
Julian: Step-sister or not, Brenda, my mother has severe dementia and heart disease. Why were you shouting at her?
Brenda: Because she refused to give me the keys to the family safe in the study!
Eleanor: Julian... my chest... she was screaming at me for the papers...
Julian immediately knelt beside his mother's electric wheelchair, holding her frail, shaking hands in his own warm palms.
Julian: Mom, take slow breaths. You're safe now. I'm right here, and Sarah is right here.
Eleanor: She said... she said you were dead in a car crash... she said I had to sign the estate over to her today...
Julian: What?!
Julian stood up so fast his dark grey suit jacket snapped open. His jaw clenched as he glared at Brenda with lethal intent.
Julian: You lied to a sick, elderly woman that her only son was dead?!
Brenda: She wasn't cooperating, Julian! The probate court deadline for father's inheritance is this Friday!
Julian: My father left the estate to my mother, not to you! You were cut out of the will five years ago when you embezzled company funds!
Brenda: Father was tricked by her! She's not even my real mother! She's just a gold-digger who married him for his money!
Sarah: Mrs. Eleanor loved your father for thirty years! She nursed him through his cancer while you were off spending his money in Europe!
Brenda: Who gave you permission to speak, maid?! Learn your place in this house!
Julian: Sarah's place in this house is as a valued member of our family team, Brenda! Yours is at the front gate!
Brenda: You can't kick me out, Julian! I have a legal court injunction allowing me to review the family assets!
Julian: Show me the document right now then.
Brenda reached into her designer handbag, pulling out a folded piece of paper with a triumphant, arrogant smirk on her face.
Brenda: Here it is! Signed by Judge Miller yesterday afternoon! I have the legal right to stay in this mansion until the trust is audited!
Julian snatched the paper from her hand, scanning the text quickly as his brow furrowed in suspicion.
Julian: This is a preliminary motion copy, Brenda. It's not a signed court order. It carries zero legal weight.
Brenda: It will be signed by Friday! And once it is, I'm taking control of Vance Logistics, this mansion, and every cent in the bank accounts!
Sarah: Mr. Vance... there's something you need to know about what happened before you walked through the door.
Julian: What is it, Sarah?
Sarah: She brought two men with her. They're upstairs in your private study right now, going through your file drawers!
